Piazza Venezia takes its name from the Palazzo Venezia, built by the Venetian Cardinal, Pietro Barbo (later Pope Paul II). The Palazzo Venezia served as the embassy of the Republic of Venice in Rome. One side of the Piazza is the site of Italy's Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Altare della Patria, part of the Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II, first king of Italy.

Notice: The video mentions a link that leads to the exploration of the Vittoriano. Still not there because I will be out soon. 🙂

At 41:25, gentle and patient tilting and panning at the magnificent Chapel of St. Ignatius of Loyola. He is buried in this church. I paused the video and read my Italian sources. I do that every time i want more information. This is luxury! This video is a treat! Your patient and methodical shooting is a blessing for the viewer.

Fabulous as usual!!! 👏 👏 👏. We discovered the garden behind Piazza Venezia by accident. And what a beautiful surprise!! That's Rome! Every corner has another priceless ' pearl' . Thank you so much for videoing The Gesu church. We haven't been there in a while and I have forgotten what a masterpiece it is , especially Baciccia' s ceiling. I've grown very fond of Baciccia. He was also admired by Bernini . Grazie mille Romano Impero!!! Ciaoooo!!

It’s a tragedy what was destroyed to build that white type-writer, and then they toppled the king anyway! So it was all a waste of time and money. But there’s more than enough beauty left to fully atone for it

THANK you very much for the video, roman cameraman. Beatiful palaces with their Guelph or Ghibelline battlements. Nice water fountains, with the pineapple included. It was much better to attend fights between philosophers, in Hadrian's Athenaeum than between Roman gladiators in the Colosseum. Mussolini was a great admirer of the ancient Roman Empire. The word fascism comes from fasces, an ancient symbol of Roman power. The architecture and decoration of the Church of Gesú is very beautiful but I remember the words of the Christian apostle Paul in front of the Greek Parthenon: " Since we are children of God we should not think that the Divine Being is like gold, silver, stone or something carved by the art or ingenuity of man. Nor is it attended by human hands as if he needed something, because he himself gives all people life, breath and all things ". Thank you very much again for the video.

Duscovered this great garden trying to get into the museum part of the building whi h was closed. Was the lone person there and it was a wonderful treat! The building and gardens were taken over by Mussolini during WWII and Mussolini used the balconi facing Piazza Venezia to make political, fascist speeches to the peopke of Rome! It's a fact Italians regret and prefer to forget because Mussolini handed Ita,y to Hitler and betrayed their country! So glad it was not destroyed!
