When I played Julii I thought: why would I bother with these crappy rebel settlements? Let's race the brutii on getting those sweet sweet greek settlements instead, and after that Asia minor. Well after I secured northern Italy of course, just placed an army on a bridge near Massilia and let the barbarians fight it out.

Probably because of their OP chariots, think they've been nerfed a bit in the Remastered version.

+Andres Escobar Win for Carthage is quite real, it is difficult only at the start, and some provinces can afford to lose. But Parthia, this infernal torture, their a major problem in the lack of people to recruit, it is better to try to move closer to the Pontus.

Carthage is easy. Just believe in your inner Hannibal. Easy win. Trade a lot. You dont have to give ground. Spend some time building up you economy and defending yourself. Than do what Hannibal did. Win.

The simple strategy with every faction: build economic buildings first. Focus chiefly on ports and roads. Garrison your cities only with peasants. Run the highest tax rates you can without your cities revolting. Always build the upgraded town halls. Get good fighting with low-tech units. Manually fight all battles. Try to take Thessalonica, Bylazora, Athens, Thermon, Thebes, and Sparta (geographic Greece) as soon as is practical to do so. This strategy should be good for beating the game with every faction. For Parthia life should be really easy. In battles just rely on your cavalry archers. Keep at a distance and pick off the enemy slowly with arrow fire. With Carthage fight Rome early and rely on your cavalry. And never, never, never auto-resolve a battle against a faction that uses chariots. The game overpowers chariots in the auto-resolve calculations.

Parthia is really easy and so fun. Never train infantry, they really suck but your horse archers are so overpowered. Build massive armies of horse archers and you can win huge battles with the capability of loosing 0 men.

+Tomasz Losinski: I would mostly agree. Only thing is you maybe need one or two infantry units for siege equipment. But yeah, once you breach the gates or anytime you fight in the field it's horse archer time.

Well, you're not supposed to be able to play as them. My guess was they used certain faction victory outros as placeholders for certain unplayable factions PRIOR to making them unplayable, but forgot to remove the scripting that prompts them. That would explain why the rebels don't have an outro at all, as they were never intended to be playable.

the seleucid is indeed the best faction. scyte chariots, elephants, plus cataphracts equal easy win. infact, in my playthrough i got to meet with the romans, which where waiting me with 12000 troops. so i trained mass elephants cataprhacts and chariots, trained mercenaries with my money left and then instantly evaporated all of them.

@@johncolasont6195 Definitely ! The sheer scope of their starting Empire + what they need for victory almost always means you get to fight diverse factions and units.

Rebels are leftover from Shogun Total War. It wasnt Rebels in Medieval and Rome and later. Its more like Neutrals. + rebels, brigands and pirates, yes. And sometimes gladiators/amazons/mercenaries/peasants uprising. But its not people/rebels if player do that. Its count as one of Minor-faction. Banners still differ even under player control and sometimes swap when you move in and out armies/character in cities. Sometimes changed city culture. Most "rebels" on map initially is minor factions. Sometimes rebels appear as minor faction and not just uprisign/brigands(bandits). Ethruria, Athens - its not rebebls.

SPQR and Neutrals dont have uprisings in any way, including brigands and pirates spawn on own land (but they still spawn on factions land/shores). You also get more taxes not only for not having pirates/brigands (rob trade routes) but for more loyal population as taxpayers. You always have 100% order. Uprising is leftovers from faction controlled city - you still have no penalties in that city to order and economy. Also. Keep in mind. Author have 1.1 based game with some changed files from 1.2 (language files from 1.2 or something, or partially applied 1.2 patch, or 1.3+1.4 installed as part of BI exp installed and downgraded to 1.1)(i mean it war in warez version author rind somewhere). Some mess up game warez version. Plus additionally he himself edit campaign and data folders. Because it not possible to do such video in clear 1.1 version, he must to.

David Johansson Find RTW in ur PC files go to data > world > imperial_campaign something like that anyway and there should be a notepad document named desc_strat, open that up and copy all the factions that are unplayable into playable. I hope that helped, it'd be much easier to explain it to you in person XD
