@LiterallyS… can’t see the rest of your name I agree that Hollywood overuses lorica segmentata but I don’t understand what the length of time it was used has to do with it as most depictions of Rome in Hollywood take place during the late republican to mid principate period in Rome which was a time when lorica segmentata was VERY popular among the legions. It was the most common type used at the time along side lorica gallica, and lorica squamata. The depiction of Romans here using both lorica segmentata and lorica gallica is pretty accurate. The only inaccuracies are ones built into the game ie all red tunics, praetorians gear etc. Before insulting someone’s video you should probably brush up a bit on your history of Rome. As far as I can tell the intention is that of a fictional battle and isn’t trying to portray any real battle between Rome and Egypt.

Just want to ask base on curiosity. 🤔 Would not a single soldier get a broken ankle just by jumping from those boats? Seems kinda high, and their armor are kinda heavy, with those shields in hand.

Well it was a nice watch, just that the cavalry charges both sides up close tends to just look at each other, hang around, chill maybe? They lost interest in fighting as soon as they got close to each other.

Why did you sacrifice the skirmishers early? You could have taken advantage of the testudo outfront and shield the skirmishers behind..

I've made a mistake. The initial plan was to attack with testudo formation, empty the enemy archers then attack with skirmishers. But by the time the roman army arrived in front of the egyptian army, I forgot my first move and made the stupidest move .:)

I figured the Romans would win. they had the superior armor and weaponry. most of the Egyptian army did not have armor. good battle though!!!!!!!

that's because Egypt had already been through thousands of years of wars and conflicts, they were past their prime just like any Empire in history i mean look at the British Empire now doesn't exist. now was the Roman time to shine. just think about it, when Cleopatra was Queen of Egypt and Julius Caesar was bonking her she was closer to our time by more than 500 years when the pyramids were built 2500 years before her so yeah the Egyptians had there time and this was not their prime.

@@iamnotmental I think, if this was an actual war, the Egyptians would've realistically won though. The significantly weakened Roman army is stranded in the desert, which is a terrain unfamiliar to them. Meanwhile the Egyptian force, although very severely weakened, is familiar with the terrain and would be able to sabotage the roman army's supplies, as well as raise troops faster than the Romans can get reinforcements

@@randomcoloradan2878 if Egypt and Romans were both in their prime Romans would win, i understand about locations as you said, the Arabs did the same tactics against the Crusaders but that was a very long time after Egypt was in their prime, just simply the Romans had better equipment, better training

Рим переміг, чому я не здивований? Це настільки очевидно було, що просто смішно. Єгипетська фаланга просто стояла і дивилась, як її розтрілюють. В більшості випадків єгиптяни стояли, а римляни атакували. Нам відомо, що гра Рим 2 зроблена таким чином, що воїни, які атакують отримують перевагу над оборонцями через "Натиск". Єгиптяни мали використати слонів і колісниці. Я би сказав, що битва навмисне виграна за Рим. Набагато цікавіше було, якби Рим програв.
