It seemed and sounded like the man did himself in, and tried to kill the woman next to him. Not sure if the woman deserved it, but if he was truly the killer, he did society and taxpayers a favor. If he wasn't the suspect (as the news mentioned the authorities in charge did not confirm it) than this is a strange turn of events, indeed!

You may think that the killer has done society a favour by killing himself, but he has done it a disfavour as well. He now cannot be questioned, and now we may never know what the hell the Romeoville killings were all about. True, perhaps the injured woman knows, but first she has to survive, and if she does, she has to be the killer's accomplice. However, her family reported her as a missing, endangered person. That makes it sound as though she may have been more of a hostage than a sidekick. This whole thing is screwed up.

Not sure why if he wasn't he would behave this way, up to and including murder/suicide at the conclusion of a police chase, but there is the chance he was just a small piece of a larger puzzle.

I am sure that will be coming out in the weeks and months to follow if the deceased man really was the killer (just giving a tinge of doubt since the news mentioned the police would not confirm the deceased man was the suspect in the first place). If he was the murderer by evidence, there would be no trial, so we will get the information much sooner.
