Literally-- I cannot stop listening to this incredibly beautiful serenade. I remember when I first heard it. I was in the South of France in the summer of 1981 with some friends at an outdoor cafe. Suddenly, several glasses of wine appeared at our table and -- voila-- a couple of gorgeous Frenchmen were beaming from across the patio. They came over and spoke French with us, with one of them not speaking a syllable of English. His name was Christyan. Always I will remember him with this song playing in the background. We stayed in contact through letters (this was in 1981-1982) and I wanted to see him again so much that I perfected my French just for him. Alas, still he lives in Toulouse and I'd do anything to see him again and serenade him with this song. Thank you for the beautiful song and memories, David Gates!

He died 8 years ago, but until now grief and tears still fill my long nights and during day reminiscing the good old times It only shows that true love continues even beyond the other side and not even death can conquer such feelings.
