One of the main points to be considered here is that a lot of these players/legends are saying that Ronaldo should win this or that year best player. Now really few people will say that Ronaldo is the best footballer of all time. That's not the same for Messi. He is considered by a lot of people (objectibly) the best player in football history. And, for me, they are right. Now that he´s won world cup and possibly 8 Ballon D'Or, discussion is over. He is the goat. Maybe forever.

@@CoolBroNDude yup, of course one could argue that messi is for sure better than ronaldo but the distance between them isn't that big, they are life long rivals that revolutionized football for almost 2 decades, they are the icon of their generation, messi being a better dirbbler and his assists are almost as good or better than ronaldinho's While Ronaldo has Pace on his side and is arguably one of the best finishers in foot ball slightly better than messi in that. But in the long term messi is more consistent while ronaldo started tiring out which is obvious since he is older than messi

Most of those guys who picked Ronaldo did so either because they played with or coached him or they are fellow Portuguese. The difference is that Messi, Pele and Maradona not only scored goals but they had exceptional dribbling and passing which is something that Cristiano Ronaldo is poor at. Ronaldo is simply an exceptional goal scorer. Beginning and end of story.

I agree, but I really think it has always been the case during the previous decade. When you would discuss if Messi is the GOAT, very often it would lead to "Wait, there's Maradona and Pele.." For Ronaldo it's not the same, when you would discuss about him being the GOAT, the first comparison was always Messi. I really feel like for most people, Messi has always been on another level

Many ppl say its Ronaldo, i mean hes good, but Messi is just something else, he's Dribbling skills and assisting and shooting stuff cannot compare to Ronaldo plays.
