I subscribe to all the popular 4WD channels but this one really takes the time to showcase stuff you don't see anywhere else. I have an FJ Cruiser myself I am much less interested in tackling the most difficult terrain than I am in "getting to cool places" !!! Thanks for taking us along Ronny!!!!!!!

Affirm. Yeah, I like these guys. They do stuff that’s pretty en-par with what I do with my ‘82 Ford Bronco. And don’t worry, as many disadvantages that the FJ Cruiser has to the Bronco, it’s not as hard as you’d thing. Biggest thing is to get out there and learn to trust yourself and your abilities!

This epic adventure was the best effort in story telling, cinematic content worthy of a big budget documentary. The work it took to place cameras ahead while driving by to capture your activity showed your dedication towards wanting a high quality film. Good pacing, highly informative, awesome drone footage. Thanks for helping those of us watching feel like we were part of your awesome crew. Well done Ronny and team. Big fan from the states!!

Finally got to see Coober Pedy on our second trip around Australia. It might not be the most beautiful place in the country but is is certainly one of the most interesting. We saw some underground places but nothing quite as spectacular as those tunnels. Great stuff. Just for fun I will leave the journal entry I made back when we were in the area. "November 5th 2002 (Tuesday) We started off quite early yesterday but had only gone about 50Km when trouble struck. Without warning the bus lost all power and all attempts to re-start her failed. Having been through something like this before I replaced the rotor button and checked the contacts in the distributor but still nothing. After checking the spark and finding there was none I tried to trace the spaghetti wiring but it was impossible. Not knowing quite how far we had come I got the car off the trailer and headed for Glendambo (against the boss's instructions I have to say). It turned out that I should have gone back to Pimba as that was where help came from in the end - something else for me to live down I suppose ? Not long after we got back to the bus Harry and Graeme (Graham?) came out and set to work finding out what the problem was. It wasn't long before Graeme found that our coil had failed but after replacing it there was still a problem of some sort and the engine still wouldn't start. Deciding not to try and sort out the spaghetti wires Graeme simply connected a new wire from the ignition switch and we were on our way again. Harry and Graeme were a real pair of 'outback types' with a great sense of humour. They were our own personal heroes and we were very thankful that they came to our rescue. Being stranded on the side of the road out here isn't a nice experience. We pulled in to the Bon Bon rest area about 150Km further on but when I tried to switch over to petrol (as I usually do at the end of the day so we can start up the next morning) the engine died and refused all attempts to re-start. After some fiddling around involving the air filter I finally managed to start it again and we decided to stay at Bon Bon for the night. The silence of the outback has to be experienced to be believed. We are so used to noise, even if it is only the sound of birds chattering in the trees. Areas in the real outback are so silent the feeling is almost overwhelming. I love it, I could stay out here forever. Today we made our way the last 180Km to Coober Pedy. It is a very interesting little town and despite its remote location it has plenty to offer travellers. Sadly our funds are so run down at the moment that we weren't able to afford any of the mine tours or other paid attractions but as many of the shops are built into the hills we were still able to go 'underground' and see how the buildings here are constructed. Basically it seems to be - find an unoccupied bit of hill and start digging in. The temperature is gradually rising as we head north and so far it is a real relief to be out of the miserable cold and rain of Adelaide. We even managed a swim in the caravan park pool today, despite the locals saying it is far too cold for them - it is a mere 35 degrees C. We are now just over half way to Alice."

Ronny Dahl has changed so much in 3 years- watched his video in 2015 - beard much thinner, less weight more Aussie: 3 years on, Ronny looks like an Afghanistan posted SAS who is substantially heavier. You gotta watch what you eat mate because driving long distances with junk food = health issues.

Hey Ronny, Loving your videos. Just a question I'm hoping you could answer or do a video on if you haven't already? I've tried to search the web for info on setting up a Camper trailer or any trailers wheel track so its the same width and same offset as the 4x4. The reason being that it would be great to have the same size wheels, tyres, offset, wheel track, stud pattern etc on both the 4x4 and trailer so you could rotate all the 4x4 and trailer wheels. Also so you have extra spare wheels if you were in a remote situation. I've heard wheel spacers are an option in the USA but illegal in Aus. Is the only other option to have the axel on the trailer manufactured to suit? My BT50 has a positive 35 offset and 1600mm wheel track. My Camper trailer has a 0 offset and 1600mm wheel track. I'd like to find a way to set my trailer up to have a positive 35 offset and 1600mm wheel track the same as my 4x4? Cheers, Cam

I don't see him answer many posts so ill help the best I can. I seem to recall him mentioning he has around 280lt tanks from memory. I cant remember if he topped up at that small station 2-3 episodes ago. Then there's the 20lt top up to get into Coober Peddy. So an absolute minimum of 300lt. What say for easy math and an over estimate for safety's sake we say he put 100lt at the small station to make it 400lt. I'm unaware of what Sandgropers are stung at the pump or if Ronny is central to Perth as such but for curiosities sake we take the recent ave prices here in Mexico of 1.55ltr + $3ltr at the station comes to $765. As for water usage figures an educated guess would be a maximum of 4 tanks. 70-80lt dual tanks in the trailer I think. All that being said though Eddie I'll not lock it in as such and pass!

Good luck because it's not a tourist attraction as such. Maybe his a subscriber to the channel and contacted Rondog or his had a connection somewhere along the line. There's Toms Working Open Mine and Old Timers Mine that offer guided or self tours. Simply driving the truck into a multilevel car park will simulate the underground thing.
