First time i tried ecstasy was at a rave in Newcastle at the Uni basement for a night called Turbulence. Just as the pill began to come up and i got those tingly rushes and spaced out eyes feeling for the very first time Roni stepped up to the decks with MC Dynamite and proceeded to drop some stinking bassline smashers. Best feeling of my life! I think you always remember the first time you drop Ecstacy and i feel lucky mine was just as Roni Size started to spin a rinse out set back in the 90's. What could be better? I can't remember much of that night except bouncing like a nutter when Roni double dropped Alien Girl with brown paper bag then pulled a rewind and the roar of the crowd around me, plastic bottles flying everywhere. Mc Dynamite shouting " toon toon black and white army" before Roni double dropped it again. wish i could do it all again.

Single handedly got me into Drum&Bass and I got to meet him and tell him that. The GOAT forever and ever

i am one of the few people who can say i was not a big fan of roni size's dj sets back in the day. I think the first time i heard him was at a dreamscape new years eve (95/96 i think) - but his production was top top class, all his own stuff plus the stuff he did on dope dragon (under various alais's) - i am not a big fan of the newer d&b (well anything post 97) but i do like this set.
