DJ doesn't take his eyes off RB the whole time. He knows just what greatness he is in the presence of, how privileged he is to be there and, more poignantly, that the great man was coming toward the end of his life. Such reverance, respect and love. I've clocked up at least a dozen of the 47,000 views so far, and it still gives me goosebumps. The adulation from the public goes without saying, but the adulation from his peers is truly something special. What luck indeed but not for him - for us.

I was only 11 in 1979 when I heard on the news about Richard Beckinsale passing away. I just couldn't believe it because he was only 31 at the time. He'd literally just finished making the Porridge feature film with Ronnie Barker. Some months later, at an awards ceremony, Ronnie Barker won an award & the 1st thing he did was pay tribute to Richard Beckinsale. He could barely finish his speech because he was so devastated at him passing away at such a young age

Such a genius, the only man I know ever to have written every thing he starred in on his own without the production team or anyone knowing it, he would write it and post it in as anonymous, only at the end of his career in each staring role, would he stand up and say now for the person who wrote the script, oh yes, as they say you must look in the mirror, it was me. Nobody would believe him but later it became evident, he knew every sty;e of comedy and now the only 2 classics we have left are David Jason and Dennis Watermann well not comedy but a legend who played with the O.G of none comedy roles in British history, namely George 'Arthur Daley' Cole.

From someone who did see it first time round, (I'm 67) it was more than just the comedy itself, it was that connection with our Grandparents (or parent in my case) too, that made them such unforgettable memories.
