DJ doesn't take his eyes off RB the whole time. He knows just what greatness he is in the presence of, how privileged he is to be there and, more poignantly, that the great man was coming toward the end of his life. Such reverance, respect and love. I've clocked up at least a dozen of the 47,000 views so far, and it still gives me goosebumps. The adulation from the public goes without saying, but the adulation from his peers is truly something special. What luck indeed but not for him - for us.

I was only 11 in 1979 when I heard on the news about Richard Beckinsale passing away. I just couldn't believe it because he was only 31 at the time. He'd literally just finished making the Porridge feature film with Ronnie Barker. Some months later, at an awards ceremony, Ronnie Barker won an award & the 1st thing he did was pay tribute to Richard Beckinsale. He could barely finish his speech because he was so devastated at him passing away at such a young age

Such a genius, the only man I know ever to have written every thing he starred in on his own without the production team or anyone knowing it, he would write it and post it in as anonymous, only at the end of his career in each staring role, would he stand up and say now for the person who wrote the script, oh yes, as they say you must look in the mirror, it was me. Nobody would believe him but later it became evident, he knew every sty;e of comedy and now the only 2 classics we have left are David Jason and Dennis Watermann well not comedy but a legend who played with the O.G of none comedy roles in British history, namely George 'Arthur Daley' Cole.

I met Peter Vaughan a long time ago when I was working for York Hospital Radio (I was about 16) and he was in a superb production of An Inspector Calls at York Theatre Royal, which we were broadcasting. We were invited to the Green Room for a drink, and I remember us watching the highlights of an England-Switzerland match together on the telly, Strange the things you remember. All I wanted to say was that you couldn't hope to meet a nicer, more down-to-earth bloke

watched this about 3 years ago......and yes....flanked either side...tears me up every time.....the biggest tragedy is that no filmmaker has bothered to do a bio pic about Ronnie's extraordinary life on television and making us all laugh our arses off every single time....his comedy is timeless as well as genius...my father was a Geordie and moved out here to NZ as a young man....met my mum and I a result of that....fond memories with my Dad watching Open all Hours and The Two Ronnie's...all those years ago....I cherished my old man as much as "The Governor".....a true comedy genius who is sadly missed...

I'm only 28 but i was brought up on reruns with the likes of the two ronnies with my late nan and watched open all hours and porridge with my late dad. Ronnie Barker was pure gold, everything he done was the best and the stuff he came up with was just amazing. We will never get writing calibre like him ever again. The only thing i'm annoyed about is the fact i was not around when it was all going out for the first time, i missed out on a lot of great TV.

Very nicely said. From someone who did see it first time round, (I'm 67) it was more than just the comedy itself, it was that connection with our Grandparents (or parent in my case) too, that made them such unforgettable memories. You're very young to have lost your Dad, I'm sorry to hear that, though I'm glad you have those precious memories, because they will stay with you forever & bring you wonderful comfort. Take care 😌

I love this video. Barker was always the actor on TV. He always played different characters. This is the only video were I saw the real person. The real Ronnie Barker. He was a sweet and kind man.

Here here Syrahrose! Apart from quite possibly being the greatest all round comic genius the world has ever seen; Ronnie was also a real gentleman and very humble about his achievements. A wonderful man who left us with so many gems. RIP Ronnie, sadly missed by millions.

This makes me cry, bless him. Three of THE BEST of British comedy!! You can truly see the love they feel for each other. What fantastic talent. My childhood was fond memories of The Two Ronnies and Only Fools.

What an absolutely wonderful and moving clip of the late Ronnie Barker. It was sad to see that Ronnie's health was obviously failing. Yet, he still had his sparkling wit. The world needs more The Two Ronnies. Thanks Ronnie for all the laughter and love.

What luck that we got to grow up crying tears of laughter all borne from the talent of this man.
