Actually there is footage of him complaining and blaming the doctors for messing up his back in order to get paid more money. It's kind of pathetic, but I don't hold it against him. He is in constant pain. But I totally disagree with him in the press conference. He was WAY OFF POINT. No one was complaining about placings. Shawn Ray was saying that every qualifying competitor should get paid something, just like in the NBA, NFL, Baseball, soccer and hockey. Even those who sit on the bench their entire careers get paid because they are there and they are pros.

@@jasonito23 I was like that forever.bodybuilding is a self driven sport.you don't do all that training and sacrifice for others gain.theres a difference between respecting your competitors and letting them feed off your plate.when he wasn't placing and travelling ,paying for his own travel and accommodation .And all them top guys were getting sponsored and shit know one threw him a bone.And soon as they knew they were never gonna win an olympia.pull this shit.And complaining about the doctor's had nothing to do with money.The doctor fucked his surgery up,it's about quality of life.the only thing pathetic was your comment.its just like he said the sport has always been that way.u don't like it.do something else
@TheVlatko666

@@jasonito23 You can't compare Bodybuilding to NBA, NFL, Baseball and other sports because there is a lot more money in those sports, sports which a lot of people pay to watch. That's why there are huge stadiums and arenas built around the world. Whereas bodybuilding, particularly Olympia happens only once a year, with way less following and fans. Even if all bodybuilders who compete at the Olympia got paid something, it would be pocket change in comparison to how much they spend on food, PEDs and supplements to get ready for a show. Bodybuilding would have to be way more mainstream to follow through with something like that, and that only comes with interest of other people, but unfortunately it will never be mainstream enough so that every professional bodybuilder can live comfortably just by doing bodybuilding. With social media now, it's easier, sponsors will reach out to you if you have the following, but then again, it's not directly correlated with bodybuilding.

according to kevin levrone, ronnie placed last in every show on the european tour after the olytmpia. Kevin asked him, why do you keep doing this? Ronnie kept his mouth shut and kept working, and he wasn't even a weider athlete, he had to pay his own way when he was in europe. No one sponsored him. 8 hours traveling by train using his own money to compete. The last show, levrone went backstage for a show and said ....damn!!!......he said that was the last time he had ever beaten ronnie. After that show he won the night of champions and won the next 8 olympias afterwards. BEAST!!!!

Even eight times mr o he remains the most underrated goat in the world. Just because of his waist line. No one could match his muscularity, definition, vascular or and density. That’s why he deserved to win all eight. For me he should have been placed in the top two at least three years before winning. He made everyone else not only look small, but look normal. The pictures don’t do him justice. He was also bigger than everyone, broader, better at being a person. He respected others but secretly didn’t respect them who didn’t respect him much. He had no time to worry. He just kept on keeping on. It was his insane pump and muscularity that won him shows. Not popularity. Not quads. Not back. His biceps and chest for me were the best we’ve ever seen and so was his quads and back. Had he been a bit sharper when he finished second place, he would have won.
