i saw his grave and it really just hit me when i saw his name etched there with the years he lived beneath it , just like any other man's grave . I never knew or met him obviously but just seeing the name Ronnie James Dio on that stone really was like a kick in the guts for some reason

+Brett Owen I met and sat at a bar with him in 1983. He was one of the most soft spoken and attentive people I've ever met. He was genuine and seemed interested in what was being talked about. A great guy.

Wow...any vocal coach would tell you that drinking a beer right before a vocal take is a bad idea. It's cold, for starters. But what are you going to do...argue with the greatest metal singer of all time? He knows damn well what he's doing. I've been studying his voice the past few days, and good heavens, he had a fantastic range and BEAUTIFUL tone at all notes. Astoundingly great tone. What a talent! I'm so glad I got to see him twice while he was alive.

This was really a redemption album after "Dream Evil". I was so relieved to hear songs like "Evil on Dream Street" and "Lock up the Wolves" that were amazingly good again. Great to see it take a minute for that voice to come out. It's really good to know that even a vocal god like Ronnie needs a few minutes to get the pipes relaxed and let loose the wall of sound that was Ronnie James Dio. Miss you, Ronnie.

Rowan Robertson.. after sending his demo to Dio's label and being rejected, then sent it to his fan club and landed the audition that would eventually lead him to be the lead guitarist for one of his idols... fantastic story and a dream realised! Plus I love the way he plays... good solid rock guitar player with real fire in his fingers.... dare I say, a little like Blackmore... only a nicer guy I'm sure. :)

The early '90's with Dio. I was at this Lock up the Rules 65 percent full audience that Dio and band rocked in Lakewood, Fla. in a large group of Metalites that came into stage and Rocked for 2 Hours. Loved it. Fuck Grunge. What an awesome party dumbasses missed ! I swear I was there !
