Montrose was the first concert I ever attended. They played with Foghat and Black Oak Arkansas in 77. It was a great concert. I used to crank Pat Travers "Puttin it Straight" on my Craig powerplay system with a 300 watt Craig amp in my 73 Mustang. You could hear me coming from a mile away. It's a wonder that I can still hear. Two legends of ROCK!

Saw Montrose years in OKC when they were out promoting the 1st album. Had no idea who they were...they were on the bill with Foghat and J- Geils. They were first up and after they were finished we just looked at each other and said, "WOW!" They blew the other 2 bands away. We went out the next day and bought the Montrose album. "Rock Candy"..."Bad Motor Scooter".."Rock The Nation" and "Space Station #5" are on my iPod to this day. RIP Ronnie.

Saw both Pat Travers and Ronnie Montrose in Albany NY in the late 70's percorming in separate shows. Ronnie's band was wedged in between opener Van Halen and headliner Journey at the famous Palace Theatre in March 1978, then Pat Travers played a relatively small movie auditorium called The Madison Theater in Octobe with Richard T Bear warming up. In December 1979 Gamma played Allen's Pub in nearby Scotia and we had a table upstairs overlooking the band from 30 feet away and had a terribly cute waitress serving our drinks all night. 3 great shows like we'll never see again for a total ticket cost of under $25 for all 3 shows.

You may enjoy Pat Travers Band from 1976 with Pat, Mars Cowling, and Nicko McBrain (now with Iron Maiden) on drums. Start the video at about twenty-five minutes into this concert where Pat just changed from a Telecaster to his trademark Gibson Melody Maker, he tunes up a bit, and BAM he breaks into a great slide performance on "You Don't Love Me"... enjoy
