so some thing has just been brought to my attention.....i own the very last pick Ronnie ever gave out at a show(im the one with the super puffy hair close to the stage) i was also the youngest person in that place and he asked me if i played guitar and i said yes (i really do) so he gave me his pick.....that pick is now in a 3 inch thick protective glass case glued to my wall that little piece of plastic means the world to me and is my favorite memory from any show I've ever been to RIP Ronnie.

Beautiful Saturdays at our apartment in San Diego...National City.....young sailors cranking massive stereo equipment that we recently bought at the Far East Trader in Subic Bay, Philippines. 85 degrees.....motorcycles...weed...beer and blue skies and San Diego clear day beauty. MONTROSE cranking on the new 200 watt Marantz amp through fresh 15 inch Kenwood speakers......heavenly memories....

Didn't know bout Ronnie*s death. Just listened to Territory. Don't follow media so much. The guy was starting the guitar instrumental genre that the young shredders followed. Miss him so much. I know many of the now aged great guys appreciated him, Satch for sure, Gilbert too cause the guy has a heart for all the greats and any loss really hurts him

According to San Mateo coroners office report, Ronnie actually killed himself with a 38-caliber revolver. His wife said that besides the battle with cancer, he suffered from depression for big part of his life- including the last days of his life.

I feel so bad for Ronnie that he botched that last, climactic wailing note for the solo. In Martin Popoff's excellent Book ( "Rock the Nation" ) on Ronnie Montrose, GAMMA, and his Suicide, there were reports from band members that Ronnie was drinking very heavily at the end of his life, and Ronnie was also very upset that he had trouble with his fingers and not being able to play up to his usual very high standards towards the end of his life as well. Just to clear up all the mis-information out there, Ronnie's suicide was NOT because his Cancer had returned. I'm not trying to come across as an "authority" on Ronnie's life. I'm just going by what was written in the Book, as quoted directly by Ronnie's close friends who knew him best.
