It was added in case one of the players reaches 147, then the golden boll adds to that 18 (?) points. The prize for doing that was $500 000. The Saudis promised to double it next year.

I'm pretty sure they get a chance to pot it if they hit a 147 for a huge additional cash prize

For this tournament they introduced this golden ball that allows you to play a 167. Essentially, when a player plays a maximum they can then Aldo pot the golden ball for another 20 points. The ball gets removed from the table once a maximum break is no longer possible.

In Saudi the female's were lucky to even be permitted to referee! In order for this to happen they had to wear baggy clothes! 😂 It is funny but I think it's fine, they're in Saudi so we should respect their laws & traditions.. It's a pity we in Britain have become soft as shite in the past 10yrs & bow down to anyone & everyone's demands & don't require anyone non indigenous to respect our laws, traditions & culture!!

Riyahd tournament added it. It is like a "bonus" ball, it only becomes live if the player is in a position to make a maximum. If they score 147 and then the gold ball, they get 20 extra points and a huge cash purse. The gold ball was also supposed to be removed from play entirely if a maximum stopped being viable (so potting any color than black while reds are still on table) but as it was a new thing, I guess not everyone knew what to do.

​Liberty Media (American) own F1 Snooker is mostly owned by Barry Hearn, who has a 51% share. As for golf there are various tours, one which is owned by the PGA (American), LIV (Saudi) and the DP World Tour which is owned by the European Tour. Hope that clears things up for you mate. 👍

Not sure what the point of clarifying ownership has to do with the issue of criminals and tyrants using sports to burnish their image, so not sure what you cleared up? Pretty sure the groups willing to assist the tyrants are not limited to one continent.
