One of the best performances of this superstar filled show. Ronnie is joined by her "new Ronettes" Belinda Carlisle and Grace Slick.

Singer Ronnie Spector was born Veronica Bennett in New York City on August 10, 1943. She grew up in Spanish Harlem with her mother, father and older sister, Estelle. The daughter of an Irish father and a mother of African-American and Cherokee descent, Spector struggled as a child to reconcile both sides of her mixed ethnic heritage, a rarity for the time period. Her father, Louis, left the family when Spector and her sister were still very young. Eventually, her exotic features, distinct voice and striking beauty would later prove to be a boon for her music career

You can call Phil Spector a head case, but he did create the "Wall of Sound" which gave many 60's groups their signature persona.
@chrisseaborn29864 жыл бұрын
@Mid-day_ Light And yet she escaped from it and rose above it. (With help from her mother...or so the story goes.) His "contribution" to this was that he did write Be My Baby. In spite of the fact that it was a huge hit for her (and rightly so), I would think it would be difficult for her to perform it because of the song's connection to him. If it was, it sure does not show in this video from 1986.
@vin85314 жыл бұрын
Mid-day_ Light What a sicko. She’s talented and beautiful.
@debrascott84924 жыл бұрын
@@stevehazzard3120 .....Yes, you are correct. Phil Spector was a fantabulous creator of sound, music and talent, however he was a head case throughout all of his creations. He was a genius in his own right. Ronnie suffered such mental, emotional and physical abuse. Any woman they came in close contact with him suffered at his hands. Then he blatantly shot and murdered an innocent actress. His own mental genius destroyed himself and everyone around him. What a waste.
