It is true that he was managing for 27 years but the first ten years were very difficult, he still won 8 titles in that period of time, crazy, that has much more merit than taking a team full of stars and with more than 1000 million to spend and make them win something, Ferguson took a team with history but in a bad moment and made them win 8 Premiers. He boosted the careers of Ronaldo, Beckham, Van Nistelrooy, Rooney, Tevez (Internationally), Giggs, Scholes, Neville, Barthez, Van Der Sar, Cole, Ferdinand, Vidic, Cantona, etc.

For me the greatest manager of all time has to be Jose Mourinho. Which other manager can win the champions league with Porto then 6 years later Inter the only Italian club to do the treble. He even won a Europa League with United in 2017 and considering their state at that moment, it was a great achievement. Just 2 years ago he won the Europa Conference League with Roma which is also a great achievement considering their state at the time.

I recently watched a video on how Jose Mourinho created the Porto team entirely from his vision , buying players who were relatively not famous but they all fit together so perfectly like puzzle pieces 🧩 . And the players respected him so much that they stated they did all the hard work with passion because it was for the Boss Mourinho. I would also add Zidane. His 11 trophies in 6 years for Real Madrid including 2 La Liga and 3 consecutive Champions league title is legendary.

Zidane took over a top club, with top players who were already world class. Agreed that it takes balls to manage a dressing room with big stars in it but to keep him in the top 5 just because of the trophies isn't justified I guess. Can put Klopp or Simeone instead. Given they resurrected these clubs from a bad phase. Especially Klopp, as a United fan I can only be Jealous of how much they have achieved in the past 5 years. Going for 4 trophies last season, 3 UCL finals, almost won two PL but lost only by one point. Incredible.

@@pgedits4184 idk if you knew but zidane left after the UCL final of 2018 the managers who came after him didn’t even last that long for example Lopetegui and Solari who both had the exact same squad without Ronaldo and Real hit their low when they lost 4-1 against Ajax I don’t remember Zidane being the manager of that game but Solari being the manager eventually zidane came back and they reached the Champions League semi finals again and won a La Liga title I don’t see how that’s overrated?

the thing with Ancelotti and Pep is that they won their trophies with big teams which had a godly amount of money. Arsene Wenger had to rebuild Arsenal from scratch and even revolutionized training and footballer diets. Alex Ferguson also came in a terrible man united team and he rebuilt them from scratch, making this team one of the most dominant forces world football has ever seen. and then there is the special one. won the title in his first season, stopping the invincibes from winning it back to back, coming back to chelsea and winning it again 10 years later, getting 2nd with THAT man united team and winning european silverware, winning the ucl with an underrated porto side, winning the treble with an underrated inter side, and now here he is, having taken roma to 2 european finals in 2 seasons. not only was he good then and won many silverware, he has also had a good longevity. this is why for me he is the best manager
