I'm amaze by how many people in comments think this is a kinda amateur or newcomers band, when Tokio Ska Paradise Orchestra as a band has existed since the 80s, they've released more than 20 albums and it is a worldwide reference and part of history in the Ska genre... But whatever, I'm happy people still get to know this!!! "Skapara" foreveeeeer!!!

The original Ska musicians in the late 50s / early 60s in Jamaica, had mostly been playing the island's Jazz combo's / orchestra's before Ska came to the fore. So the Jazz-Ska link has been there from the beginning. Ska Jazz is a completely self sustaining sub genre of Ska nowadays. Caravan (Skaravan) may be the most covered, but there's countless Jazz classics out there reworked by Ska Jazz bands / orchestras. And as to why Ska is being treated as a punchline... I think that has to do with when Ska hit the big time in the US the 90s. Unfortunately, that was more skapunk, which had the energy to keep the crowds (read : kids) going, but lacked the groove of 'proper' Ska. The brass section was unimaginative, the song progression was predictable.

Was recommended this video after looking up Balkan Brass videos, and this sounds like a mix of Balkan Brass and Ska. Balkan Brass is a genre of music combining folk music and marching band music, and ska originated from mixing Caribean styles with American Jazz, and this Amazing Japanese band is bringing this beatiful music. The thing I'm saying is, the amount of influences present is insane

These are REAL MUSICIANS AND ENTERTAINERS! That talent is lost in this world of music. Booty shaking, electronic sounds made from computers and fake glamorizing faces and bodies. Reallly? !!! No talent and all the same. Thanks for staying real all these years guys. Always a pleasure and fun to vibe with you All!!!! 💕

They were brilliant during the closing ceremony of the Olympic games. Whether one is new and just discovering TSPO for the first time or an all-time album-by-album know-it-all fan how awesome it is to celebrate their sound with the rest of the world. They not only made me think of The Specials, Madness and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones but my own hometown's #LaMalditaVecindad (Maldita Vecindad y Los Hijos del Quinto Patio) from #CDMX. Let the music unite the people. ps Awesome fun video.

I love it ❤️. I visited Tokyo back in 1970 and stayed in the athletes village from the 1964 Olympics. The people who I met were A1 and knew how to have a good time. That was the best of times. Very nice and very well done guys! I can still remember the name of my guide. His name was Masahiro Yoneda. There was a band that we used to see there. I think that they were called Plastic or Plastik. Great bunch!❤️👍

Asian men counting down in Spanish and playing a song genre that originated in Jamaica and popularized from America

Um, Ska was popularized from Jamaica just fine on its own the first go-around in the '60s. Then, the Brits made it popular again in the late '70s and into the '80s. And, then, American ska bands re-repopularized the genre in the mid '90s

The West Indians brought ska to England in the 1960s. My older cousin was a 1960s London mod and he treasured the Jamaican ska recordings that he bought in London. The mods loved ska.

Awesome band. Have been following them for a while now and what surprised me this time around is how the incorporated the Peruvian box to this cover. First time I see it being used in ska. Well maybe second time....Fabulosos Cadillacs used it a couple of times back in the 80s, not sure though.
