This is a warning regarding Root Greenhaus in Indonesia. I saw several KZfaq videos of successful imports as well as some very unsuccessful imports. But they had some plants I've been unable to source in the US, so I went ahead and ordered the plants. 44 days later I still hadn’t received my order and all they've offered is excuse after excuse after excuse. They definitely treat KZfaqrs differently than regular people. I filed a PayPal dispute on day 44 (in case you didn’t know, you can only file a dispute within 45 days of purchase). Within 4 hours of filing the dispute, they sent me a notification that the shipping label had been created. They then proceeded to tell me that they would not send the shipment unless I canceled my dispute. They stated that they’d been “scammed a lot by your kind of consumers, opened a PayPal case and forced us to ship the package, then took your money back and got the perfect plant package”. My kind of consumer? Someone who doesn’t want to be ripped off for a very significant amount of money? (I ordered 34 plants!). Anyone who has been through the PayPal claims process knows that’s not how it works. Getting your money back for a purchase that was never shipped is very easy. Getting your money back from a package that was delivered requires proof that what was delivered wasn’t what was purchased. Having been through the process once, it’s not something I’d want to go through again. This tells me that the people who filed claims and were actually refunded by PayPal received plants that had to be mush. Otherwise, PayPal wouldn’t have refunded their money. I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend this business. The amount of frustration they've caused, the lack of communication, and the unfulfilled promises are not worth the risk. Buyer Beware. If you have had successful imports I'd appreciate knowing who is trustworthy. I've had good success with both Ecuagenera and Tropicals. Are there any others that have sent healthy (or at least rehabable) plants in a reasonable amount of time? Recommendations are appreciated.

Why not leave the plants in perlite until you see a noticeable root growth at the bottom and on the sides of the cup? Won’t pulling out the plants after a week damage the new roots that just started growing? Isn’t it another shock?
@plantsbymelissa
@plantsbymelissa Жыл бұрын
Not necessarily, you have to check them at some point and I’d rather check them sooner than later in case something was wrong. It’s not like I’m going to be playing with the roots everyday. I’m just sharing what I chose to do and there’s more than one right way to do things. I have enough confidence in what I’m doing that I don’t feel like I did any additional damage to the plant.

@@plantsbymelissa yea, stem rot is always a possibility. Just that fine perlite can be abrasive on new roots,but perlite is a good idea. I use leca, water or sphagnum moss. If I am afraid of rot, I just leave in water until I see several roots, so if I have to trim some mushy end of the stem I will not disturb the roots. In my experience it seems that repotting a rootball with the media intact allows the plant to hit the ground running when repotted. I have a Philodendron Splendid small cutting that rooted very well, while the species Philodendron verrucosum is extremely finicky, lost a most of the propagations. Looking forward for an update.

I’m trying out perlite now for my rehab! Do you think I can add dynomyco to my perlite to help with root growth? Or just wait until it’s able to go into soil?
@plantsbymelissa
@plantsbymelissa Жыл бұрын
ooh good question! I feel like it wouldn't hurt to add some but I haven't tried it in perlite. I feel like I've seen it mostly used in soil mixes. If there's not any nutrients in the perlite I'm not sure if they would help out the roots too much but I could be wrong lol.
