Dang I work 3 hours Saturday and Sunday now it will be 6-7 hour then Sunday 5-6 hour maybe the 16th and 17th or 17th and 18th I'm a 16 year old so ya high school and work stressful supposed to be 11th grade kindergarten 1 2 3 3 4 5 6 7 7 8 9 after exams maybe 10th hopefully not 9th again

I find it interesting to see where our old steel foundries use to be by the casting names in some of the manhole lids. Sadly it seems that it is becoming more so that they are getting stolen for scrap metal!! I feel that they are part of this countries history

Nice crisp weather you guys have. Here it started with -10 blizzard today, ended up +9 on the way home from work. lashing down (great - gets rid of all that white stuff), dunno if I should trade the truck in for a dog sled or a canoe? 3:00 What does that extra hole above the hole where the sewage is going do (if anything)? When last checking my drains I noticed that I had the same but mine had a little clay lid on it.

The pipe above the main drain, is that for overflow in case the bottom one gets blocked?

It’s a rodding point for the pipe downstream of the interceptor trap. Originally it would have had a clay or iron cap over it to prevent sewer gas and rats from travelling up to the house, but most of these caps are long gone now. The cap would have had a chain to the top of the chamber on it at one time, so the cap could be removed if the drain was blocked, to empty the chamber before unblocking the pipe. The bottom pipe is a u-bend style trap. These are fairly redundant these days because soil vent pipes do the job of keeping sewer gases away from the house, and all internal drains have traps.

So I couldn't help but notice that there was an incorrect word used with the first job. The word used was where which is a direction but the correct word for the sentence is we're which is a contraction of we are. It is bad when a Yank has to correct a Brit on their own language.

@@brianparker5228 first of all some of us are familiar with different British dialects and an incorrect word is still an incorrect word. Second it is spelled y'all but that is a Southern expression in other parts of the country they say youse or yinz. Also you Brits can't pronounce lieutenant properly or even spell Aluminum let alone pronounce it. Another thing Brits started the word soccer! Last but not least you drive on the wrong side of the vehicle and road!

As far y'all and you are the second Brit to misspell that I already explained that is a Southern expression not the whole country. What you call biscuits are cookies and are a dessert. What you call chips are fries and what you call crisps are chips! If you all want to get petty then I will respond in kind!
