I have often wondered if you ever stand back and wonder “how did I go from an unknown girl from nowhere Arkansas to someone so loved by and inspiring to over half a million people”. You are such an inspiration and I don’t know if I’ll ever get to hug your neck. We hope to make a little road trip to the homestead exchange some day after it opens but if we never meet, this is my virtual hug to you, my lovely friend.

You are inspiring to so many people. I was at the homesteading conference in Coeur D'Alene and attended your last minute fill in session. Let me tell you how many people you moved! I have been watching you for years and while excited to listen you, I knew what to expect from your "heart talks". Many people sitting around me, though, were not followers and were there for the other speaker. Through their tears, they were left feeling a lot more reassured, more whole, more connected and overall more peace, as was I. We are so blessed to get to share this time in the world with you. ❤

I came across a quote that said “you’re not introverted, you’re just surrounding yourself with the wrong people to connect with” and that HIT HARD. I find that I am so less exhausted when having conversations that are deep, meaningful and productive vs small talk with people who don’t share my values, passions and I am trying to make it “fit.” Loved this video of you and Miah together. Enjoy the family in town and all that comes with it. Congratulations on the wedding as well, what a blessing!

I’m not a commenter, but I absolutely value your content and consume it all. My daughter watches your videos with me and has listened to the podcast as well and always says “mom I think you and Jess would be good friends”. We came thru Beulah on our way home from vacation, it was a market evening but it was just as you were going to every other week, and just as it was getting started. The coffee was amazing. And I said hi to Miah as we were leaving. It was a moment of oh they are real people and it was cool seeing Daniel making the coffee and Miahs sister taking our coffee order. I wish we had that kind of community. I do believe I may have been a blubbering mess if i had seen/met you, Jess. I’ve always held emotions in because if you weren’t even keel you are too much, but that isn’t true and having big emotions and reactions is ok. I’m learning to just be me and Jess you have helped give me permission to do just that. So thank you!!! You are greatly appreciated. Also, I ate my first tomato of the season from the garden and it was glorious!!

So much more to come.

Thanks for this. I used to do a lot of teaching and public speaking to homeschoolers, and I agree completely that vulnerable heart-to-heart connection (vs. insecurity or one-upmanship) is far too rare and so life-giving---true soul food! That's one reason I love your channel--you're real! Also, I'm not a homesteader--just a gardener in the suburbs who turns 70 this summer--but I still get a lot of goodness from you guys, and I've somehow stumbled upon Anne of All Trades, too, and love her, too. People like you and Anne give me confidence to keep on doing brave things at any age.

I rarely comment even though I’ve been faithfully watching every video since you began. This sharing of your experiences with the conferences and with Miah’s family really touched my heart. I’ve been away from the farming life that was my childhood for nearly sixty years and you are one of my connections to my past and to as much of that life as I can still manage at age 76 in the suburban Northeast. Community and relationship is the true core of what is important. This community that you have built is so precious to so many of us. Your family is a true blessing to us.

Hi, I have been watching you since March of 2020. After a horrible gone wrong foot surgery, I had to force myself to walk 30 feet to my garden for 10-15 minutes three times a day to start my healing with sunshine and plants to over come the pain and limp. You taught me curiously and vertical gardening. By September 2020 I could walk 5 miles. So your blog today helps me realize I need to give you feedback. Your smile and calm approach is my one and first go to KZfaq videos when I can’t sleep due to nightmares from PTSD. I’ve had a rough, really rough time over the last 12 years. God has blessed me many times in many ways to keep going. You are one of my blessings! Thank you. I love you and your family. Keep making content. Keep smiling. God has used you mightily in my life. Sorry I’ve been quiet all these years and never said Thank you before! Please know you saved my sanity, I turn on your videos and God’s peace washes over me, my friend, you are the best! I pray I get to met you in person soon. Ps my third job is now being an organic garlic farmer! My long term dream is to break the cycle of poverty in Todd County SD for at least 70 families by helping others do truck farms on an acre of land too, working together creating a food hub in what is now a food desert in the heart of an agricultural driven state! Thank you for giving me hope and a vision, even if it is just a kernel of an unplanted seed right now!

I’ve been watching since 2020 (like half of the viewers lol) and never thought I’d get to come. But I’m so excited because coffee and tea are my jam! Hope you see this and feel the love! ❤️ Wanted to add that I have a full small garden because of you. Everything I know about gardening I learned from you and have taught my daughters. Jessica, I've been lurking around on your KZfaq channel for years. It's been so long ago that I can't remember how I found your channel. It might have been from a KZfaq search for gardening. I did a few comments on the live stream that you did for a while but never on the channel. I just thought with hundreds of comments, there's no way you would read what I have to say anyway. I just can't not comment on this video. I'm so impressed with your way of explaining things and encouraging your viewers. Miah is an awesome designer and builder. It totally blows me away how much you have accomplished in such a short time when you moved. I've never in my life seen anyone attempt to move an entire farm with animals. My passion is backyard gardening and used to be vacant lot gardening. I'm getting too old to keep up with vacant lots so I'm now in this aging season of life concentrating on backyard farming. I just had to say how much I've enjoyed not just the garden content but the lifestyle chats over the years. I pray God continues to bless all your endeavors. I'll be continuing to lurk. I was at the Idaho conference, and I can't express enough how much I appreciate that you were willing to undertake such an intense schedule to be there. Meeting you was most definitely very much like it was for you when meeting Charles. You have poured so graciously into all of our lives. My life has been so blessed by you. ❤ I kept trying to express to my husband the overwhelming feeling of "I'm not alone" and "I'm not weird or crazy". I grew up doing some gardening and canning, but everything we did was with commercial products. I've had so, so much push back for moving things to natural, sustainable methods. It literally broke me wide open to be surrounded by so many like-minded and open people.

I love y’all so much! I don’t comment much, but I’ve been watching for about 3 years or so and Jess, especially has been such an important part of my life. I do often feel like I’m listening to a friend when I tune in and I hope to one day meet you in person. My husband and I are trying to start a homestead in Hawaii on family land while we also care for my mother in law and help her with so many things. When we decided we were going to move here (from Florida), we had a lot to do before we could make it happen, so I “turned my waiting room into a classroom” and started binging KZfaq videos. Thankfully R&R Farm/Jess was one of the first I found and immediately fell in love with your sweet, casual, friendly nature and transparency. My husband & I are Christian missionaries with a large missions organization and I connected with you on a spiritual level as well. Thank you for all that you share and being such a safe space on KZfaq. If you ever consider coming to Hawaii, please know that you are welcome at our home. We would love to host your family and we have plenty of space. I’m totally serious. It would be a blessing to host y’all. 💛

Thanks for sharing your heart, Jess. I appreciate you. It's been a pretty bad gardening year in Southern Wisconsin and this was a good reminder on why we do what we do.

I don't comment much, just love listening to you speak from your heart. I will forever remember the first few days in my new greenhouse, while listening to your podcasts. You were the one to make me say to myself that this is what I wanted and deserved. It felt fitting to listen to you in the first few hours in my new space.

Thank you, Jess. I just harvest my first tomatoes ever (at 53) from my urban size garden. I’ve learned so much from your love of growing! I’m hooked! Growing is the best healing for my soul after the loss of my daughter. Looking for a small piece of land to start my mini homestead. You make it feel possible!

I bet many of us are imagining what it would be like to sit down at an event and look sideways and say "Jess???" What I can't imagine is what it's like to have so many random people come to you feeling like they've known you for years. I can't think you'd be anything but gracious. 💚

I wish I could post a pic here of the BIG WONDERFUL hug you gave me at the McMurray Fest - (someone got a pic of it for me & you gave me a tissue 😊) - I was one of the first ones you met right after your talk, and I had to go right away because I am from NW IA where we had lots of flooding. I volunteered the whole weekend and it was such an amazing event - and I did get to talk with Miah a couple times (he was great - comfortable, friendly, approachable) ……your session was perfect - PERFECT!! From the moment you both started - wet eyes, evolving to a few tears…but at the end - “thank you guys…..” I knew what was coming and I was like - I am RIGHT HERE and she is talking directly to us-face to face!! ……the tears came. Thank you for coming to Iowa (again) & the blessing of you being you and following God’s call on your life!!!!and…. You session is exactly what you are saying here - community &relationship is most important and most rewarding!!!!!

I don't often 'engage' by commenting. However I ALWAYS watch and really enjoy! I learned to love the beautiful person that Jessica is inside and totally enjoy watching life as Jess knows it and all that she shares. Mia is a lovely man too, just a little more reserved although learning to share more lately. I would recommend this family channel to anyone and everyone. Thank you Jess & Mia for sharing and caring. 💜💜💜

I love that you shared this. It’s so reassuring to see that people can approach you super stars because your heart wants to greet their heart. I love seeing how joyful you are. You laugh and smile all the time. I love seeing how happy you make each other. I love that you can pivot and change a wedding venue or have lots of house guests - I’d be a stress ball. I’m going to try to get better about that. WWJD, what would Jess (and Miah) do. 😉

Jess. Thank you. Today was one of the scariest of my life. My husband had surgery for his cancer and I was alone (but not really alone with everyone around) in the hospital. I was terrified. All I wanted to do was ugly cry and let it out but couldn't because people. I felt completely and absolutely alone and in my own head. I put on this video as a distraction but it was anything but. It was like an old friend stopping by and chatting for a bit. All of the sudden, in this room full of people I didn't know on one of the scariest days, I wasn't alone. I felt peace and the urge to ugly cry melted away a bit. I know I am just a random person on the Internet and not even sure if you will see this and even if you don't, I want to put this appreciation out into the world so maybe it can send good vibes your way. But I wanted to let you know you brought me peace today. You truly blessed me today at a point where I was on the verge of falling apart. And for that, I thank you.

I couldn’t have said it better Jess, “having the opportunity for reciprocity.” I regularly admire your ability to articulate. Last week, I was able to meet a local business owner who had hosted my husband’s and my rehearsal dinner for our wedding, 7 years ago! She had gone over and beyond with details (like fresh flowers for the table, etc) and she did not charge us ANYTHING for this extra attention. I had been holding in all this gratitude for all this time, and I was finally able to thank her. We both teared up and the timing of the moment felt divinely perfect. I had been gifted the opportunity for reciprocity. Girl, get ready, if I ever meet you, I will ball my eyes out! To have the opportunity to thank you in person for how deeply you have encouraged me in my faith and in my garden! 🌺🦩💕

Jess your an amazing person! I don't comment alot but I have watched all your videos for about 3 years now along with Doug and Stacy. The 3 of you have truly changed my life through a screen. This year I finally talked my husband into selling it all. We sold our 1400sqft beautiful home in Ohio that we faced another 30 year mortgage with and were able to use the equity to buy 11 acres in South East Missouri. In fact on the way to see the 11 acres Doug and Stacy actually pulled up next to us while on the highway it was insane and a true God sign that the land we where going to see was truly meant to be. I raced and rolled the windows down yelling "we are homestead hommies we just sold it all" they kindly smiled and although I didn't get to speak to then or meet them other then that funny driving fan girl moment. I went to their conference. It was a beautiful load of information however I left feeling dumb for my fan girl moment. I actually cried the whole way home as I felt like such an inconvenience. I waited in line for 30 mins twice to say hi to Stacy with my 2 children dreaming of a photo with her and express the beautiful influence she has been to me only to get shut down both times and walk away feeling like I was a nuisance. It weirdly broke my heart after truly selling it all, fermenting, chickens, cows, sourdough, purchased all their books, products and things they promote and fully doing it all following all the influence of them. Now we are on our raw 11 acres fully doing it and building our new home. I was so sad I actually told my husband I probably wouldn't go to another conference. Hearing how you you truly cares for your followers restores my hope. I pray one day I can meet you and tell you in person how much your content and peace means to me and has changed my families whole life! My 13 year old loves your videos and my 2 year old cherishes watching Fraya and your other cows. We also ended up on the same road 7 mins from Luke Hammonds farm (he works for seedtime). While talking to him buying produce telling him I worked at an 8 acre organic farm in Ohio I learned he works with my old boss and you with seedtime. Just another God sign! He makes fun of me as I am building raised beds and doing as I call it a mini "Jessica garden". This journey has been truly beautiful and restoring to my faith I was almost loosing. My husband was not on board with any of this and it almost broke us last year but it's strengthened us now that we took the leap more then I can even express. He loves it and building our home was a huge goal for him. Mine is clearly all things homesteading. Thank you truly thank you so much for what you do. 💗 I bless you and your beautiful family right back!

Once again, thank you Jess! It's all really worth it! I'm the only one in my family and friend cycle that grows vegetables and sometimes it does feel very lonely and a lot of people don't realize how important it is to me...but then you come as a true friend and things feel right and meaningful again🤗 Greetings from (very hot) Greece!!

Thank you for always sharing!! I have learned so much by watching you through the screen.... and actually my whe life has flipped upside down because I watched your "how to prune a tomato plant" video 3 yrs ago. We have moved from the city to 2 acres, make so much from scratch, we have 11 chickens, 1 50x75 foot veggie garden, a 30x20 fruit and come again veggies, and a small Grove of trees. If our development could have other farm animals you bet I would have them...😊. God has blessed you with an amazing opportunity and you have not taken it lightly. Blessing to you and your family!!❤
