Roro vs. His Emotions

The Ellises

The Ellises

2 жыл бұрын

Three boys… Three different personalities and one 3-day-old infant. These are the conversations we have EVERY DAY in this house. Someone is always upset, angry or confused about their feelings and yes I take the time to talk them through their thoughts even when they are wrong.
Boys rarely get to exist in spaces where they can be vulnerable and express themselves without ridicule or judgement. Those boys typically grow up to be emotionally unavailable and hurt men. Accountability and honesty can change all of that if covered with love.

The Bible and experience taught me how, even when my family tried to suppress me. Truth is, people will say you're sensitive when doing so because, they don't want to be accountable for their actions, lack thereof or what comes out of their mouth. Parents are supposed to be our validator, when right or wrong. Good job Devale! Those boys need you, love you, look up to you and have much respect for you!

It’s at this very moment that we can all understand why God gave Devale 4 boys. I’m 35 and I must say that I have honestly never seen a father speak with such compassion, patience, and understanding while also teaching in a positive light to their sons until now. He did it with such love & security. This video speaks volumes on the type of man Devale is and the type of men the boys will grow into. I pray that my future husband has this type of approach with our family.

This is why boys need there father's. This whole conversation is blessings young boys everywhere. I love this teachable moment he took with his kid and filmed it for other little boys to see. Duvale you are the truth. I absolutely love that you gave him permission to have his feelings then showed him how to navigate and behave thru and towards them. Real men talk I loved every bit of this.

I love this ! The tone in his voice, the break down of getting to the bottom on his issues, the acknowledgement and acceptance in his emotions, and crying. Because so many boys are raised to not show emotions, and to not cry ever. Baby cry get that off your chest, but definitely keep your hands to yourself.

As a first year teacher I wish more parents would have these conversations with their kids at home this young. I have 12 year olds displaying this exact behavior 10x worse and I have to stop teaching to raise somebody else child and have these conversations. Parenting is important!

By the Grace of God I was blessed to raise 3 beautiful children, girl, boy and another girl. My only Son graduated from college and is in the military. He is 36yrs old, the middle child. I taught him its ok to be in your feelings, just communicate to me, to us what you're going through, why you're feeling that way or this way. It's truly a Blessing to see a dad/father have this relationship with his child, girl or boy. I LOVE their family!!

THIS is the perfect example of why God's will for our lives is always PERFECT. Children are a gift of God; and He has gifted you all four precious sons, to whom you are charged with leading. Everything you said to your son made perfect sense to him. He knows he is loved and does not want you to be mad at him. He was confident enough of your love to admit that "it hurts", and your lesson was "I know. Accountability hurts." Wow... Leadership meted out with a calm, genuine and impacting love. You demonstrated being both a Daddy and a Father in a few short moments. Bravo!

I initially felt conflicted about seeing Roro cry on camera, but I had to remember that this specific video is also part of the human experience and it’s ridiculous for us to expect KZfaqrs to only show us the “good” or “happy” moments. I took this as a teaching moment for me and others who didn’t experience this type of discipline. Children can be taught with love.

I understand that he's speaking to a child, but when he said "if you don't even remember what Uncle said then it wasn't even that bad" that hit different. Lot of adults can learn from that because they holding on to something said or did that wasn't even that bad and didn't call for the reaction they gave.
