way to much talent for one stage ,to hold. All of these guys had talent. Lou on piano Ron on drums to Gerry on base. One of the tightest back up bands ever. And they liked playing with each other. Just watch Gerry's face at the first end just before they go back into the song. They had fun on stage with each other. Then Rory on slide doing things others only dream about. Awesome!

I saw Rory in Sydney Aust in about 75 (and again a few years later where we got to meet him )...I was 16 and had never heard of Rory....wow !!!...what a concert.....it blew my 16 year old mind !!!!!!!!! I have had a long distance love affair with him ever since .....what a ride ! Thanks for the awesome music Rory xxx

I still listen going back to Taste an the live Irish Tour ‘74, as if it were ‘69 to 1991 all over again. I do not think there is a one of us Rory fans who cannot listen to Catfish Blues or Blister...and not get a bit bleary eyed and ear hungry wondering how much better he would have gotten than those last Montraux shows which showed him refining and building even more smiles into his blues. I can listen Hendrix Blues album and his lat live works for an electric blues fix, or Groundhogs “Split” and “thank Christ for the Bomb”, or the first two Led Zepplin and back to field recordings of Son House, Doc Boggs, Roscoe Holcomb, Blind Lemon Jefferson who can have you those blues tears 30 minutes in, or any Muddy Waters, even Electric Mud, of course Message To the Young, John Mayall with. Clapton, and none of them can take me where Rory could because he made his blues His Blues-and every nite touched the audience; we feel it on every album at some point, and down to the last shows when he was THE blues and Irish heart playing it with a smile and swing of the strat, and his talent was inspired, he was a journey man blues icon, and man, I really hope people continue to pick up on him and understand why when Hendrix was asked who was the best guitarist at the time and he sId “ I don’t know, man. Ask Rory Gallagher”; this was when Taste made Isle of Wight live seem like.there could be no end. It six when our heroes keep dying, but for some reason every time I watch a different guitarist interviewed they speak the same of him as they do of John Cippolina, and that he was the best, the nicest, the open hearted guitar slingers geek hero that we all wish was lifted as high as he ought to be in the interstellar waves of music and genuine heart, an Irish heart. Yes, I am a fan and I miss him like a best gone. Hello Rory Gallagher friends!
