Rory's final resting place is in Cork. Rory's Fender Stratocaster Sunburst No. 64351should also find its 'forever home' in Cork.... It was Rory who gave the Strat its magical sound... It was Rory who practiced and played the Strat every day of his life.. It was a part of him.. It is Rory's sweat that has soaked into the wood.... No-one else deserves to 'own' this guitar... 🕊️ The Strat should be on display in Cork where all his fans and admirers would get the chance to see it up close... It is the fans that keep Rory's 'legacy' alive.. The devoted fans who will never let Rory's memory fade.... It is sad to think that in the future, perhaps, Rory's guitar will only be remembered for the amount of money it made at auction ... Financial gain should not play a part in the guitars fate... Let us hope an agreement can be reached to return Rory's Stratocaster to Ireland, to Cork, where it belongs... Good luck to all those actively involved in the campaign to "Bring Rory's Stratocaster Back To Ireland"..🕊️

Rory was our local hero. I grew up in Cork. We knew Crowleys Music Centre and we all bought our strings and picks there, hoping to see Rory walk in, which unfortunately never happened. According to Mick Crowley's daughter, Rory used to come in after closing time and talk to her dad about guitars and amps. Check out Rorys' first two albums for some of his most haunting songs.

When rory died his family put some of his gear for sale.i remember i was 20 years old i was making little money from a restaurant job.i didnt have the money to buy rory gibson melody maker that he played live in the isle of wight if i remember.it was selling for about 1800 pounds.i cry to this day that i couldnt buy it.rory was my hero and still is.❤🙏🌹🌹🌹🎸❤🙏🌹i think his strat should sell for over one million pounds easy .

Bernie Marsden was the first artist to play Rory’s guitar after his death at Buxton Opera House at a Rory tribute night.

I saw Rory with Taste when they first toured the UK and became an instant fan. Over the years I saw him every time he played Newcastle City Hall. Just after he died Walter Trout played a roaring tribute to him in Redcar Coatham Bowl and that was great to see. It's sad that it's being sold but I really hope someone who will play it gets it.

I bet your comment on Joe Bonnamasa being in on the bidding is correct , and while many here might disagree with me , I kinda hope he becomes the Strat’s new owner . He truly cares about a guitar or amp’s back story’s and history and will PLAY THEM , instead of letting them collect dust somewhere in a dark forgotten place . These need to be heard around the Globe again , at least for Rory’s sake . So sad he had to die so young . I’m over 64 now myself Doc , and rank him in the top 5 guitarists of all time.
