Not Darwin Nunez per se. But the absence of a natural finisher upfront. (Jota was injured most of the time). All 3 (Nunez, Salah & Diaz) have missed sitters all season long. If it was the Mane, Salah and Firmino of old, LFC would have 150 goals, considering the amount of chances that were created this season. Liverpool have got a far more creative midfield now, who creates down the middle(unlike the old midfield). But they've totally lost that clinical threat up front.

@@Fmfcg Think about it.. The amount of chances the old midfield created was next to nothing, all they did was pass the ball wide, left to right and right to left. Nothing EVER went down the middle. The amount of chances this team is creating is almost twice the amount of the old team. And the old team scored 100+ Goals a season... I'm being conservative with my number.

If the current team had the same conversion rate of chances to goals scored as the old team did (I did not say convert them all, i'm merely comparing the conversion rates that HAD been achieved. and i'm not talking about any other team but liverpool).... Of course there’s a player there….but he’s not a Liverpool player! Klopp gave him the chance, but cracked under pressure and killed the team confidence. Failed to lead the line. Only way he stays at Liverpool, is if he works on the left wing (Mane role)…knuckle down, work hard on his defensive skills and become an out and out goal scorer.

I’ve said the same for months. When Liverpool are winning games and Nunez misses chance after chance it’s “funny”. When you’re 1-0 down at home to Palace and he misses from 4 yards, or 1-0 down to Everton and again misses a 1 on 1 it costs Liverpool big time.

Say what you like, but he's right. I'm a Liverpool fan and watch them regularly, and I can tell you Nunez AND Salah( post AFCON) are reasons why we have lost the league. We were so much better with Jota in the team. The only proper finisher at the club... Also the defence hasn't been good enough, so there is some work to do for Slot

Not just Nunez. Salah, Nunez and Diaz all went cold at the same time. Nunez has always missed sitters but still scored ,the ladt few weeks he isn't scoring and missing sitters. Diaz is never going to score loads of goals and Salah going cold at the same time. A perfect storm.

He’s talking out his ass a per usual. Look across the front 3 and you’ll see Nunez, Salah and Diaz are all in top 10 players for big chances missed. Fine margins yes….But that’s what separates Mane, Firmino, Salah from this front 3. Clinical and ruthless. Another fact is….Too many experienced players in the squad either got injured or form dipped when needed during run in.

Was he responsible for diaz not scoring that chance vs City? Or Salah not burying his chance vs Atalanta to make it 3-2? Was he responsible for our defence crumbling to lose 3-0 to Atalanta at Anfield? Jones missing that 1v1 against palace? Yes Nunez has been wasteful multiple times this season but he's not the main reason why we failed at the final hurdle. As much as he's been wasteful he's also saved our rear end on multiple occasions e.g that last minute goal against forest, the 2 goals againts Newcastle etc

As a collective we were pretty poor in front of goals. Not just Nunez. Jota being out when he was on fire did not help either. At the start of the season I was just happy with top 4 and maybe a cup and two given last year... Does hurt though missing out 😂

It’s the English referee that make the wrong decisions when it comes to Liverpool that’s made us out of any of the competitions. Who’s to know whether these referees put a bet on teams they want to win and referee according to that 🤷♀️ Maybe that’s why Jurgen is leaving he’s fed up of their unfair refereeing ..The English referee need to learn from the European referees of how to referee.
