And 09-13 winning the champions league with inter. Winning the La liga with Real Madrid against the great Barca & coming back & winning the league with Chelsea. He was finished from that disastrous 2nd season onwards tho. Terrible at United, spurs & Roma.

@@lxldny he still spent millions on Fred, bailly, Lindelof, Dalot he kept Ashley young there & tried to get rid of Shaw, he brought in Zlatan & tried to get rid of martial. His treatment of mkhitaryan was baffling. And his treatment of schweinsteiger. He just refused to play them even tho they did well when they played. I remember schweinsteiger winning a match for United at the death agaibst watfird then Mourinho didn’t play him for months afterwards while no matter how awful Fellaini was he was Fellaini started every game. Mourinho was terrible for man United & he wasted a lot of money.

Brian Clough took Nottingham Forest out of Division two in 1976 and in his second season in the top flight won the title ( 1978 ) ...the season after won the European Cup and the season after that won it again. A promotion to the top flight , a league title and two European Cups in Four seasons !...

Yeah, completely agree with that. That Inter treble is seriously one of the best achievements in all of football and a criminally underrated one in that. You have to bear in mind Inter weren't as successful in Europe as Milan were back then and in the years before would rarely ever make it to the QF's in the UCL. Then when Mourinho comes in, Inter suddenly become real contenders, I get in 08/09 they went out in the R16 but that was against the winners of the previous tournament in Man Utd (however they made it difficult for them) but in the following season when they won the treble, they beat Chelsea, Barca and Bayern along the way to win the trophy.

Its crazy that many people undermine the job he did at realmadrid. His 11/12 was the greatest league team in european football history. First ever team in t5 leagues to hit 100 points. Most goals in a single season in t5 leagues and the best team to not win the cl. He created the foundation for realmadrid to go on and dominate europe. And he did it vs guardiolas prime barca. You hsve to include that. 2003-2012.

@jeevanthomas8095 Sorry but that’s absolute garbage. He won one league title in three seasons at real Madrid despite having the most expensive squad in football history at that time. He didn’t win the title with Granada we are talking about real Madrid here. He had prime ronaldo, benzema, kaka. Simone winning the 14 title is more impressive. Then you want to give him credit for Madrid winning future champions leagues, that’s crazy only Jose stans do this. By that logic you have to say ranieri built the foundation for Chelsea’s success

Inter Milan and Porto are not small clubs. Man City are a much smaller club than both those clubs. Inter Milan and Porto had won European cups before Jose. Man City have zero European cups before pep. Also Jose couldn’t win big trophies with man united and he couldn’t win the champions league with Real Madrid

'Even' winning the UEFA Cup with Porto in 2003, the year before the Champions League win, was an excellent achievement. His Porto team at the time was built on half the budget compared to Martin O'Neill's Celtic team. I'd say that up to and including his 2nd season with Real Madrid, when they won La Liga with 100 points and 121 goals scored (beating the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place teams away from home), he was on track to potentially end up as the greatest manager of all-time. Of course his final season at Real Madrid, when he fell out with so many players, and saw them basically surrender the La Liga title in November, triggered his decline from those previously insanely high standards.

Money was tight at Porto as they were about to move into their new stadium, and their value of player sales exceeded their value of player purchases during Mourinho’s time in charge. On the flipside, Celtic’s 3rd-6th most expensive signings of all time were all from that period even with inflation, the peak era of spending by the Old Firm clubs. Celtic were spending far more money than Porto, especially net, on transfer fees back then, and had a much higher wage bill.

The Porto thing is unique of course but don't even dare his Chelsea run or Inter to Pep's Barcelona. Don't even go there because otherwise you're showing your lack of football knowledge. That side was the greatest club side in history where they pumeled teams to submission, even the best sides with 70-80% possession. They made Sir Alex's Man Utd side, arguably the second best side in the world look like absolute tramps in two UCL finals. Even in the 08' semi final Utd were fortunate to go through against Barca with the single Scholes goal.

Porto got extremely lucky to beat utd in the champion's league, the linesman made possibly the worst offside call I've ever seen in the champions league. People forget that which is why i dont fully respect Jose's porto champions league title but the inter treble was special

Jose is past it I'm afraid. Only reason he won a trophy at Roma is because it was a new made up competition and they were the best team in it after Spurs were kicked out. Failed to finish higher in Serie A than the previous manager there. At Spurs he did nothing and absolutely no guarantee he'd have won the League Cup as he has lost 2 of his last 3 cup finals. He's finished outside the top four 7 times in his last 8 seasons and apart from at Real Madrid, his win % has progressively gone down with each club since Porto.
