Highlights from Rory McIlroy's final round winning round, as he claims his fourth Hero Dubai Desert Classic title.

The DP World Tour continues this week with the first Roles Series event of the season as the Emirates Golf Club hosts the Hero Dubai Desert Classic. World Number Two McIlroy is in the field again. He is aiming to become the first four-time winner of the prestigious event, having begun his 2024 campaign with a runner-up finish at the inaugural Dubai Invitational. Tommy Fleetwood will also be teeing it up again this week. His victory at the Dubai Invitational last week was built upon a consistent campaign in 2023, which saw him register five top-tens, including a runner-up finish at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship. Tyrell Hatton will also be in Dubai this week for his season debut. He finished 2023 with three top-12’s in his last five events to round of the year. Others to look out for are Nicolai Hojgaard, Francesco Molinari and Ryan Fox.

Saw his round yesterday, the eagle at 18 was massive but I get a feeling he can go much lower. Incredible to see he could put another round together and win the whole thing, he’s one of the few that are actually pushing the envelope week in and week out, instead of chasing the bag.

It's building slowly... He was so far back on Friday. Just goes to show he's not out of it at any point. Rory could've easily won back2back after his snap hook on 18 last week. Hopefully he can keep the run going into April. 😊

yes...time for him to add to his legacy and be one of 6 to win all of them- and a masters champ forever.... can he overcome the mental challenge to achieve that- he has all the tools to get it done- can he overcome the mental side of it- this is another crucible building block at the end of a tournament. talent and work and then confidence in the moment

What the hell was that hard directional shift on the second hole?? You would think that at this level of play, the grounds management would have everyone’s nose in those greens making damn sure there weren’t any invisible surprises. If you stop the video just before it shifts quickly left, you can see a ring around a circle depression that’s about a foot and a half across. Definitely from a piece of equipment or heavyish object placed on that green. You can clearly see how the ball falls into that angled downward and in rim of that perfect circle. I’d be a big pissed off man baby about that, lol. 😤😫 Looked like Rory actually a perfect line there. ⛳️🧐⛳️

Unlike St Andrews when Rory had the lead this course was set up more difficult. Rory only needed pars. Great win hopefully he can win a few times this year. He won twice last year but this year the signs are that he might win more than two times.

To my knowledge the Old Course is never “set up” unlike other courses. It is a public course that plays the same way day in day out, depending on the weather of course.

He sure did! I think he did it yesterday as well. With a putter there is the risk of it getting hung up in the rough and getting grass between the balland putter face. The wedge can slide over the grass and contact will be solid 🙂

Mental errors are better than swing errors. And the mental errors he made are just rusty tournament decisions, emotions over practical decisions, very easily sorted with more tournament play, even losing right now would be good for Rory, that's how well he is playing.
