Not really all that surprising. They were probably all testing it and that was the only hybrid. It’s not like the pitch between a 5 and 6 hybrid are different

It’s awesome that even the best golfers in the world are impressed when one another hit a good shot. This is such a hard sport that at any level, when a shot is hit well. You earn the respect of your fellow golfers. I love it

All pros are impressed by rorys ball striking. There is a distinct difference in launch and sound u have to witness it in person to see how big of a gap he has on the field. Hes probably the best ball striker accross the spectrum (driver and irons) of all time. Goes to show ball striking is nice but its not the be all and end all.

@@matm6916 Yes, that's true. I was at the Open on the first tee a couple of years ago. We watched some of the best in the world - DJ, Spieth, JT, Tommy etc. And then Rory hit driver and the sound and flight were different level. There was an audible gasp from the crowd and we were all looking at each other like, "are you kidding me?"

for most golf fitters, they try to get you to be equal in height to your swing speed IE if you swing a 6 hyrbid at 105 ish which I assume is below what rory is swinging at, the peak height they are looking for would be around 100 ft

If everyone who plays golf eliminated the ego portion of the game. Most would score better. Rory will NEVER have a 6 hybrid in his golf bag. But if he practiced with it he may become better compared to his 6 iron. Just my thoughts.

Down to the golfer. High fade is probably the easier shot to learn rather than a high draw. Because it’s high, you have to open the club face, which will make the ball leak right on its own without changing much of your swing path
