Just wanted to clarify in a condensed way what I think this song means because I think some people may get confused with my wording of the breakdown because there's many different meanings and I keep going back and forth lol. I think this song is mainly about her life purpose. She's having a conversation with herself but I mentioned it is written in a way that sounds like a relationship because it's supposed to be a puzzle and supposed to relate to as many people as possible! If someone wants to look at it from a heartbreak perspective they could, they just need to take some words out of context because in one meaning of "everything I need is on the ground" means that everything she needs is herself. But that's not all it means!! She also means everything I need is in the past as in, she's thinking about the "what ifs" and if she would've chosen to live her life differently. Like I wrote in the heaven scene, the different Rosies in white are supposed to be different life paths that she could've took but the Rosie in black is the life path that she did take. So everything she needs is on the ground as in she needs to go back to the past if she truly wanted to change her life path. I think she’s criticizing her value as a singer. Like she could’ve chosen a different job that is more important. BUT THAT"S NOT ALL THE HOOK MEANS EITHER!!!! She's also saying everything she needs she already has and has had since her beginning of her career. She's always gonna have another goal and it's easy to get wrapped up in your goals and trying to get higher in your career but if that's all you can think about then you forget to live in the present moment & what else is important. I think maybe she regrets not spending as much time with her family because as we know from the Light Up the Sky doc she misses her family a lot. But the other thing that she's always had since the beginning of her career is herself so this song is also about self love & accepting the life path that you chose and loving yourself! So not only is she criticizing herself for her life path, in the same words she’s accepting it. Incredibly deep and incredibly genius!! Not only is it written well, it's sonically so good and the drop sounds great like what a start to Rosé’s solo career.

Or it can also mean that behind the Rosé that anyone knows, theres this Roseanne who's happy before even tho shes not famous and contented with the love of her family. I really love how emotional the song is and the theme Rose is portraying. It sounds like she's singing about an old love or past love when in reality she's really singing to her younger self. She mentioned how the song symbolizes her looking back at her old self and comparing it to who she is and where she is now. The "On the Ground" part is kind of an implication as to her humbleness and her settlement of realizing where she came from and remembering what made her ROSE. The Piano "for example" is her now self looking back at her old self (just the same old ROSE who loves playing the piano happily where life was also simple). The song is fantastically written. So proud of ROSE. Thank you for supporting her! 💖

This is absolutely be my jam,, from rosé. This song is speak to me just like "last dance" from bigbang (bigbang afraid bc their geting older, there will be bunches of new generation so people doesn't want them again n being forgotten), n "A BOY by G-Dragon (he miss his old days), rosé i think she's talking about her career that sometimes it's happened on us when we're trying so hard to achieve something that we want so badly. but after u get it, it doesn't make u satisfied at all like okay i got it n now what?.
