Sometimes she won't even remember her performance she gets so immersed in the song. Diana did a micro second of a look, around the 2:08 second mark just when you were making a comment, I believe it was a look off to the side, thinking she saw her love for a second, but no , as she searches Paris for her love. She pretty much does that all the time, when she sings this song. I also recommend the song - Can't Help Falling In Love, from the show, The Mask Must Go On, a mind blowing experience. I would seriously suggest her performance of Rechenka (Little River) from the You Are Super show. It is a Russian folk song. You can look up what it is about. Her interpretation is MIND BLOWING!

Some think of Shakira others of Cher ... but it really depends on what effect the girl wants to produce. Into the Skys was written for her... Blizzard sounds like a dark film or Video game score but though a cover she pretty much owns it..you feel the emotional blizzard. She creates. Shes still developing the skills and confidence to write and compose her own material.. but shes had her formal training now and some success at home and on the net so shes over coming her reserve now and is working out what she feels and has to say about life.. She can appear stunning in her big performances but she is also she is also far from where many western female artists would be in terms of support collaboration and lifestyle, given her talents and mastery of the live stage. In that respect shes more like previous generations of stage artists. It will be interesting to see how she develops as shes still only 19 if she gets to travel and meets some inspirational female mentors. Who do you think she would benefit most from performing and hanging out with? This was the song she did for her first perfomance on the HTB show (can't recall rthe name off-hand) when she was 13(?) - it was even better, IMO. Themore you listen to her, the more impressive she is - and she seems a really charming young woman, too, which is more than can be said about some. Yes, she's often compared to Shakira and Cher.

Great reaction i love your inputs. Every cover she does is next level but if you want to hear originals she has many of them too, do not get discouraged if most of them are Russian, she always provides lyrics and honestly they are so good that you do not even have to understand them. She just published her first song completely produced by her, voice/music/lyrics, you simply have to listen to that one.

Contraltos are very unusual, we don't have that many of them. I looked up the figures some time ago, the total population in the world but I have forgotten the numbers now. Wikipedia has only about 300 Contralto's listed, there isn't any more in the world. / B.

It's about a Cossack warrior who dreams of his death in an imminent battle. On Diana's face you see sadness, anxiety and pain of the soul of the Cossack warrior. One would swear she borrowed that soul to perform the song.

How does Diana Ankudinova do it you may ask? Taking into account that Diana was only 14 years old at the time Dernière Danse was performed. How can such a young female singer reach such a low, rich, deep sound? Without actually scoping her vocal tract, the general conciseness of many vocal professionals attributes Diana’s sound to the unique vocal anatomy she was just born with. Diana’s vocal folds appear to be longer and thicker than the vast majority of female singers. Also, her larynx also appears to be bigger along with her vocal track, which similarly appears to be longer than most other female singers. It’s this unique vocal anatomy that gives her the ability to produce these low, deep, rich, and full sounds, but without actually scoping Diana’s vocal track there is no way to be 100% sure.
