Rose is what we in Sweden call a "dandelion child". She comes from a very dark place, had a rough childhood growing up in a cult and she left with absolutely nothing and became an independent, self supported woman very strong and caring. I admire her and her strength to carry on.

What a great phrase. In America we have one similar. Its "The rose that grew from concrete." The symbolism is very similar. That something so tiny, wild, delicate & beautiful can push it's way through something so barren & strong, finding a way to not only against all odds exist, but to survive & thrive. Tupak Shakur wrote a poem with the same name, it reads "From a crack in the concrete? Proving nature's law is wrong it learned to walk with out having feet. Funny it seems, but by keeping its dreams, it learned to breathe fresh air. Long live the rose that grew from concrete." when no one else ever cared."

Ms. Rose McGowan is for real. Some people will think she is somewhat crazy. She's not. She is letting you see what, and who a survivor really looks and sounds like. 7 years from now she will sound different, barring another traumatic event. If you are not a survivor of extreme abuse, sexual or otherwise, try imagining going through what she has gone through. Good for you, Rose McGowan! But take some time for you, and you only.

agree. people who have it good are looking through rose colored glasses, judging her based on cookie cutter expectations they have of what a victim should act or talk like. it’s like explaining the fourth dimension to folks who cannot fathom outside their three dimensional space.

I'm a survivor, but I wish I wasn't. there is nothing fun or good about me or how my thinking became altered after incest and rape. I've just watched it a second time a year later, having started the process of recovery from my own sexual trauma, and Rose's words about how important it is to feel anger, and how there's no soft place to fall and that deserves sorrow speak much louder to me now. What a brilliant lady. Ronan is a class act, no doubt. We need more Ronans

I understand her completely. "Throwing out stones, someone will help." I never had a Ronan Farrow. I threw out boulders. They put me in a mental institution after my suicide attempt. Then they tried to drown me out with prescriptions. I was the joke girl. Let's fuck with her, she gets mad. I'm proud of who I am today because I fought them. All of them. I didn't win, I survived.

Woody was banished from the family when Ronan was around 5. Mia Farrow called Woody Allen’s sister, right after she discovered Soon-Yi and Woody were together, and she left an angry voicemail that said, “Woody took my daughter. Now I’m going to take his.” She then proceeded to brainwash Dylan into believing she was molested. The nanny witnessed Mia Farrow brainwashing Dylan, and videotaping it. Dylan would say: “No, daddy didn’t do it,” and Mia would repeatedly tell Dylan what had happened, until Dylan would finally say it. This is a form of child abuse and cruelty. Yeah, other than this completely false allegation against Alexander Payne, I wonder what other complete fabrications and falsehoods exist in her book. If there was a movie Alexander Payne directed for Showtime prior to Rose allegedly meeting him at age 15, that means it would be 1988 or before since she was born in 1973. Therefore, there would be paystubs and IRS Tax Forms, and an accounting trail. I have worked on a couple movie sets, and it’s required, as it is for any job that includes payments for work. These would have to be under Alexander’s name, even if the movie wasn’t, as Rose claims. Plus, there would have been dozens of people who worked on the film crew, as well as editors and producers. All of these people would have to be silent. There wasn’t a production, obviously, because Showtime would have no reason to hide all this information, and a crew of people wouldn’t be silent. Plus, there would be accountants and pay stubs and tax forms, not to mention the movie itself. Where is all this evidence? She’s lying. When people are faced with the reality of this lie being exposed, why do they double-down, like Rose has?

The only reason why Weinstein lasted as long as he did was because he was smart and had the resources and the gall to do what he did. How is this any different? The news media, not just Hollywood, the news media constantly and consistently lies to their viewers, and if they're not lying to you, then they omit information, or report a half-truth. You can't possibly tell me you trust Hollywood to be honest. There's a hell of a lot more people who are dishonest in Hollywood and in major media outlets than anywhere else. Yes you're right, there should be paper trails, etc..., but someone is probably being paid to hide that information or making it extremely tough to find that information. The other reason why I find it hard to believe she's lying is because of the following she has. I find it hard to believe she's lying cause she honestly doesn't have much to gain in speaking about this. She's kind of a moving target.

Thomas Paine it’s unfortunate that people think when women speak up, its for money or other inaccurate causes. When I spoke up, it was because I didn’t want those that traumatized me to walk down the streets unpunished and open to harm others. But, of course, rape and other crimes are completely made up fiction, right? Everyone is innocent and we are all liars. Of course of course. I’m disappointed to understand that any women in your life didn’t teach you better. Or at least teach you empathy. I’ve watched this a few times now and I have to express my admiration for both Rose and Ronan. Rose is so strong and valiant for speaking out even when her voice shakes. Ronan does a great job of respecting Rose’s trauma and asking questions that help us understand her better. I tip my hat to both of them.

@@wildmercuryfilms even tho u may be right, it still doesn't excuse the reality of who and what kind of sexual predator Woody really is. Soon-Yi was not just Mia's daughter. She was Woody and Mia's daughter! He literally "groomed" his adopted daughter until(that we know of, that is) she was almost of legal age! Some ppl try so hard to dismiss Woodys actions by saying they're not blood so she's not really his daughter. That's just b.s.! I was adopted as well. And I can NOT even come close to wrapping my mind around the fact they became a couple! It's beyond not normal. Just cuz a person was adopted doesn't mean those ppl aren't her parents. Woody helped raise her as HIS child, his daughter. ( The male children were not targets of Woody.)There should be NO sexual thoughts or behavior towards her. And as for the daughter? She's not to blame, not really. To grow up in such a bizarre family dynamic just proves to the world just how damaged her thinking really is, to think it's normal and ok to be in an intimate and sexual relationship with her father. When I was an awkward kid, and Rose (also a kid, i realize) seemed to have the world by the balls, I never would have believed that one day I would strongly identify with her. Or that this commonality of thought and experience and affect would be anything other than awesome. That it would in fact be excruciating, and a point of indictment. But I do think she's brilliant, and I think this interview is brilliant. And Ronan does a commendable job of both honoring and challenging his guest, and ensuring that she is not only heard, but understood.

For example, blaming the audience for not protecting her from a heckler when they were actually supportive. She is rightfully angry, hurt, frenetic, etc. She had the mossad follow her. Rose is, for the better or for worse is a lightning rod to bring out abusive predatory sexual behaviors to the forefront. For those who never lived a lifelong being abused as she did and so quick to judge on her wounded public behaviors, I wish they should slow down, put themselves in her shoes to imagine what would they or how would they behave in that circumstances. A little understanding and compassion for a wounded person would be much more helpful to the already highly fraught situation. I imagined Rose’s distrust and outbursts are the results of a long, lonely fight which she got beat down often and yet, she still stands and marching on. Ask yourself a question: Could you do that?

Some of these comments are insensitive, shallow, vile and willfully ignorant. Once again using the words "she needs help" or diminishing her violation/rape and pain to simply ridiculous personal politics in an attempt to make her seem crazy or somehow less legitimate is truly what's insane. She's already said on another show she used her money from Harvey W. to get therapy. I think instead of looking at her, seeing someone who may not be "behaving" how YOU might behave as a victim of that crime- YOU need to step out of that useless mindset and realize not all victims "behave" soft, weak and are sobbing in a corner for years. She is brave and she was telling this for 20 years. Some of you are only just now hearing about it! She had to go through many phases of grieving for her former self. How she grieves is her prerogative. She is entitled to act how she feels- that is her right. When we put limitations on how we believe someone "should" act as a victim- we only contribute to bullying other victims into silence. That kind of stigma is what keeps other victims silent. Some people here responding are the reason why rape victims fail to report. Because they feel shamed by not reacting the way some of you simpletons would. To reduce this devastating crime to personal politics shows how a few of you can't grasp that others don't behave as you would. Where is your sympathy, empathy? If you aren't part of the solution in identifying wrongdoings and trying to be progressive in your thoughts and making it easier for victims to come out- just be quiet- nobody needs your input.

This meant Weinstein, despite Ambra's best, brave, and courageous efforts, was enabled to continue hurting people. Your guilt is your own. I pray that you will one day be able to learn to forgive yourself for not doing what YOU think is the right thing to do. But don't for a second think that somebody doing the "right" thing won't be immediately and definitively undercut by the intellectual and moral laziness, as well as the greedy or cowardly self-interests, of others. My life too has been different from all the rest and don’t know. My siblings are so normal and I... so out there. I don’t know what tree I fell from, but it was definitely in another forest.

Mia Farrow called Woody Allen’s sister, right after she discovered Soon-Yi and Woody were together, and she left an angry voicemail that said, “Woody took my daughter. When they eventually went to the cops, Dylan told the cops that Woody didn’t do it. Dylan describes a scene where Woody “lures” her up to an attic to play with a train set, then she alleges that Woody molested her. This interview reminds me of something that a psychologist who works with victims of cults, and childhood abuse and victims of sexual trafficking told me me years ago. I believe every bit of her saying it took 20 years to get where she is with her story. She exudes strength and rebelliousness that would’ve taken a long time to achieve. She clearly has that “don’t f.... with me” attitude which serves her well when taking on not only the most powerful man in Hollywood, but also the snakes and the rot that lies hidden in that swamp of a town. Good on you Rose!!! Keep calling them out and applying the blow torch on those hypocrites that allowed this to happen.

I love Rose! I know she might not like this but she was my favorite Charmed actress, and the fact that she is such an advocate for human rights means the world to me. As a pre-teen I was abused by my mother's boyfriend, and as I got older again by my bosses husband and classmates, I went through numerous issues that I tried to speak about but was always shut down about. Thank you so very very much for sharing your stories and being a tremendous light, you have no idea how much it truly means to me ❤❤

I am impressed with Rose McGowan's uniquely rich manner of expressing herself. Though I am only just beginning to absorb some of what she is talking about, already teachers like Ludwig Wittgenstein, Alan Watts and James Joyce come to mind. Rose seems to me to be promulgating new patterns of thinking and awareness. That is spot-on what interests me. So I bought the audio version of her book, 6+ hours, all spoken by Rose!

After many years of thinking this over -- since I was an undergraduate at Berkeley in the late 1960s -- I've become convinced that helping to advance women's equality is the most important action most of us (male or female) will ever be able to take to help our civilization survive without destroying the planetary ecosystem. Bullying of women, minorities and other scapegoat groups goes to the heart of what is wrong with our way of living. We will never eliminate all of it, but each person can make a small difference.

@Ralph Dratman Speaking as one of those minorities whom you're so keen to speak for, we've gone far beyond women's equality. Men have fallen behind in every single metric that's used to determine success and quality of life. For example women are 60% of all college graduates, although the aren't the majority in STEM subjects I really don't care - because science doesn't become better science simply because of Vagina. Good ideas don't improve simply because of the person's skin colour. If you want to talk about scapegoat groups, you really don't have to look any harder than straight white men. By the way your precious Feminism is ready to throw gay men under that exact same bus and now that I'm fully aware of Feminism's grubby little history, I don't think I'll be crawling back under that particular rock. Also gay men, that aren't pathetic little deviants, want people like you to stop speaking for us. Nothing that you're saying on our behave is worth listening too.

I love you Rose McGowan 🥰 sister to sister. You're simply Ah-mazing, a beautiful soul with a great mind . Your story has been an external affirmation of my thought, that a lot of mothers/ parents in the world don't know how to guide a beautiful and attractive girl or boy child. They shun away from letting their beautiful children know that they must watch out for the vampires who' always want to devour and steal their soul. People think vampire movies are just entertainment. And you and I and most women out there who are always preyed on know that vampire movies are based on true stories in life not the other way round. I think every parent should gift their children with your book and prepare them for this reality of life to prevent the harm. Your book can help us guard against vampires. It's not a dark read at all... It's a beacon in the side of life that is dark... Yeah, other than this completely false allegation against Alexander Payne, I wonder what other complete fabrications and falsehoods exist in her book. If there was a movie Alexander Payne directed for Showtime prior to Rose allegedly meeting him at age 15, that means it would be 1988 or before since she was born in 1973. Therefore, there would be paystubs and IRS Tax Forms, and an accounting trail. I have worked on a couple movie sets, and it’s required, as it is for any job that includes payments for work. These would have to be under Alexander’s name, even if the movie wasn’t, as Rose claims. Plus, there would have been dozens of people who worked on the film crew, as well as editors and producers. All of these people would have to be silent. There wasn’t a production, obviously, because Showtime would have no reason to hide all this information, and a crew of people wouldn’t be silent. Plus, there would be accountants and pay stubs and tax forms, not to mention the movie itself. Where is all this evidence? She’s lying. When people are faced with the reality of this lie being exposed, why do they double-down, like Rose has?

“So, throughout your life, you’ve been abused by a lot of men” Rose: “☝🏼& women, women too, they don’t get a pass” 👏🏼🙌🏼 Honestly, that kind of response from her is exactly why I admire, respect & trust her so damn much!! I’m a female from Australia & I’ve long known about the sleazy corruption within Hollywood & the Elites for many years. It was just so obvious to me even as a outsider, even with all the censorship & cover up’s, especially by mainstream media, which really only made me dig even more piecing things together. Censorship is only ever there to hide something. Although I’m a female myself & knew this was going on, on levels I knew people wouldn’t fathom, I still stopped following a lot of women’s stories ect when lots of stuff within Hollywood started coming out & my main reason for that, was feminism. Without going too long & deep, although I’m a female myself, I feel like when it’s made solely about women & the narrative all women within the elite circle are angels & the men are all devils doing all the bad stuff, I felt like it was totally deflecting away from the real truth. I see everyone as humans, not their gender, race or anything else & exactly like Rose has said & I long suspected, women are acting as minions for the elite men willingly. Women are greatly helping to entrap the victims & it works, because women seem so trustworthy. I’ve even heard her say that sometimes the women are even more sadistic & horrible than some of the men are!! I feel like Rose fully grasps oneness & how defining by gender or anything else only creates division & deflects away from a lot of it, it’s not getting to the root of the problem because both genders are involved in this machine!! Because of that & her way of explaining & exposing everything, the whole thing & not only that which exposes only the men, I feel like she is someone, where I genuinely feel like I can trust every word she says, know nothing is being left out or hidden & know that she has no biases between the genders. We’ll always get a raw truth that’s unfiltered & follows no narrative other than what it truly is. Kinda hard to put what I really mean into words but yeah. I just bought her book on my eReader too. Looking forward to reading it & I’ve been binge watching her interviews again. Got so much love & respect for her. Such an amazing human being!! 🥰🥰

Rose described being constantly bombarded by unwanted sexual advances that begin at puberty. I am glad she brought that issue to light so maybe it will inspire a dialog about how those men unintentionally steal a girl's innocence bit by bit by doing so. Rose, you always have a place here during holidays with my family.
