Love how you kept referring to being created in 1950’s as not being that old. I guess I’m just barely vintage. 😊

So candid about glitches! Love learning about historic antique details. It’s almost a lost art of knowledge. Everything about your informative antiques show is wonderful, even if it’s not the cool 1950’s, my fav!😉

When looking through shops , I have found many books that teach marks . The variety of books and collections are endless depending on what you collect. The books are reasonably priced from the original publishers new price . These books are a great way to learn and have a reference at hand. The internet isn't as in depth as books I find . Great show Sue ! And your lovely collection is fit for the Queen ! Happy Collection Hunting all . P.S. a pet for Audie !

Was surprised to see that you chose this as a topic. I actually collect Chinese & Japanese porcelain along with some early 1900's English Caldon china. I have a handpainted mid-1800s rose medallion familial punch bowl that was popular among British aristocracy. They would go out on a hunt and when they returned, there would be a big spread of food and these beautiful punch bowls became quite popular for these events. I acquired this piece as a gift from a friend who went to a garage sale at a wealthy estate where the couple were selling all their life-acquired treasures to go and retire in FL. He paid about $50 for it and it's value is much closer to $3000 or more. The couple had this piece for quite a long time and the wife was very hesitant to let it go. My friend had no clue what it was and only bought it because he knew how much I love my Asian porcelain.

Hi Sue, I can finally tell the difference! Since I started watching you and knowing it was your China, I’ve been trying to differentiate the 3. You always find a n easy way to understand and remember things. I can also see why they are a favorite of yours. Is there a difference in the quality of the painting on the 1919-39 pieces?

Hello Sue, I inherited some very intriguing antiques from my great grandfather's things; he lived in China for some time. One of the things that I have is a porcelain bust of a Chinese Virgin Mary, from the few Chinese who were Christian converts. Have you ever seen anything like this? I have so many beautiful pieces of cloisonné and porcelain...brass planters and silver salt and pepper shakers...beautiful stuff that I have no idea what ti do with ! In particular, though, the Virgin bust (some 5" high) is intriguing and seems quite uncommon.

Very interesting Sue......I recently picked up a Rose Canton vase it cought my eye as I was leaving a charity shop I had a good look at it.....when it wasn't marked I had to have it........it's not damaged and I'm still following up its age and where exactly It came from........when there are no marking you know it's old ....but after you need an expert.......In Ireland we have lots of Crown Derby Royal Dulton and Belleek......but in UK .....everyone must have Bridgewater at the moment........

Is all the drool showing up on your side of the monitor? You know I love these plates! As I was unpacking all my boxes, it was like Christmas when I got to the box of Rose Medallion plates I bought over a year ago. The flooring goes in this month so by next year I should be back in jewelry production.

@@jls2915 I will - a while back, might have even been last year, Sue sent me broken plates when the tree fell on her schoolhouse. I made many pieces of jewelry for her to give away. That gave me the bug to get my own plates for such a project. She has videos of all the ones I made.

@@randyromines7364 Oh yes I’ve seen those pieces when Sue shared them on her channel. Beautiful and so unique! Love seeing more of those, but I was referring to your shop remodel. Sounds like that was quite the project too, when you mentioned new flooring and all. So very kind of you to create those pieces to help out Sue!s school house.

@@jls2915 I'll say. We bought a new house this summer, just got moved in (partially) early Nov. One bedroom is my dedicated studio but carpet and rolling shelves do not work well, so we are having laminate put down before we can actually move anything into it. Thanks to covid everything takes forever, but the flooring goes down on 13th - yea, then the real work begins moving everything else over!
