My grandmother kept a small bucket of rosemary in all the rooms of her house. She insisted that during the Spanish Flu it is what kept her family free of it. When she changed out the water she poured the spent water around her house and it seemed to fertilize her roses. They grew up and created a gorgeous hedge around her home.

I have a rosemary bush that is quite beautiful, I live in Charleston South Carolina, it is about 11 years old. Around October, I have taken fresh sprigs of rosemary and stuck it in small bottles of olive oil to impart a rosemary flavor till Christmas . I give them as gifts. I love the flavor of the rosemary in the olive oil. I just recently learned that you can cut rosemary sprigs and stick them in the jars of water (which I think looks pretty) but I didn’t know that the sprigs would root! Voila - new bushes started!

Just crack the leaves a bit and put the whole unstriped section (do not need much) into the gravy(when the gravy is done) and stir while tasting the whole time. Rosemary essential oil was one of the things to help stop hair loss after I had covid. I took some vitamins also. It's what worked for me.

Could you explain what you took and how you used the oil? Still losing hair almost 6 months post COVID....
@faithboothman9496

@@Rose-ht3xc Sure, please understand I am not a doctor and I am telling you what worked for me. I use 3 drops of organic rosemary essential oil with 1 tablespoon of jojoba oil and rub it into my scalp, wrap a towel around my head and leave on for 30 minutes. Don't do this more than twice a week, I do it every 4th day. Then I wash my hair as usual with a paraben free shampoo and conditioner. In addition to my daily vitamin I take some additional vitamins, b complex, 3000 mcg biotin additionally to the b complex, 250 mg vitamin C, 50 mg zinc with copper vitamin and just in case my thyroid needed some help I take 150 mcg kelp for some natural iodine. Sometimes hair loss is caused by our thyroid. I was sick in december, I am still taking these vitamins and I might continue to take them at least until december this year. You might need to tweak things for yourself as our bodies are all different. Good luck, let me know if you have additional questions. Honestly, I can not tell you which one is the most important because I started taking the vitamins all at the same time except for daily which I always take. I was panicking because of the amount of hair loss I was having. But, I didn't start the hair oil treatment until about 3 weeks after the vitamins and that is when i noticed a difference. Not sure if it was because the vitamins finally kicked in or if it was the oil treatment. Or maybe it was a combination of both.

@@faithboothman9496 Thanks for responding so quickly! I understand that it's not medical advice, I'm just trying to get ANY INFO I CAN (including this video) because I have lost so much of my hair already. Not in clumps or anything, I have always had rather fine hair, but tons of it and that's the only thing that's saved me so far but it's alarming when you lose so much, so fast! I thought it was stress until my Dr told me that she's seen alot of clients lose hair post covid. I had it in November and I'm still losing hair. my Dr said it varies from person to person as far as how much they lose and for how long. I've been taking the biotin and B complex as well as C, D and zinc. What is the copper for? I don't think I've ever seen copper in vitamin form before-is it in with the zinc? Also I'm only taking 1000mcg of biotin so maybe I'll have to increase that. I just bought some tea tree shampoo as well to try.

I make a ROSEMARY LEMONADE with Strawberries or Blueberries to sit in a pitcher in the fridge for a refreshing drink all summer long with dinners. Fresh rosemary, mint, cloves and basil infused in oils are used on my hair with cinnamon sticks. My scalp loves it, and my hair grows very fast.

Thank you Heidi and community.🙂 Last year I made a floral vinegar but I didn't think of the rosemary until after. When I strained it out, I added sprigs of rosemary to infuse. One of my favorite ways to have potatoes is roasted or sauted with olive oil and rosemary. Blessings!💜

Thanks for this. You cover a lot of ground in a little amount of time. The NIH site is an excellent resource site. I now have a reason to propagate the plant into all rooms of the house for winter by using a grow light to get them started. I can plant it with Thyme, Lavender, and Sage. The four would provide an excellent aroma for the room and they need less water than other plants. All of which have excellent properties for health. This also points to essential oils combined with a carrier oil for personal health uses.

@@kimberlykay130 I had the same problem so now I just keep it outdoors year round. It's been growing in a huge terra cotta pot for 10 years and it overwinters fine in a south exposure next to the house (zone 8B, WA state). Even gets covered with snow occasionally - no problem. I'm scared to even prune it - it seems to thrive on neglect! And it won't tolerate plastic pots because it seems to need to breathe and release moisture.

A couple of years ago I bought 1lb of powdered Rosemary. My desire was to sprinkle on things which were not in a stew or soup, like hamburgers, steaks, etc. usually paired with garlic. I tried grinding it into powder myself, and failed miserably ;-) I love it on roasted potatoes. You've given me many ideas for new uses, and it's good to know what it's doing in my body! Thanks, Heidi for another VERY INFORMATIVE video!
