When I was younger, I was taught that be called a “fairy” as a boy was a bad thing. But there was always something so magical about fairies to me. I never could forget the fairy king from one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays (let me know if you know which one I’m talking about, heh).
I’m 34 years old now, but sometimes I still feel like the little lonely kid I was trying to find myself and the confidence I needed to become my own "fairy king" of sorts. I’m still trying to remember to love myself and to be proud of who I have become. I guess self-discovery is a lifelong journey.
I’ve been having dreams of me living as a fairy in a forest of fairy friends, and that’s what inspired this song. I guess with everything happening in the world right now, I keep dreaming of an escape from reality. Wouldn’t it all be nice if we could live as fairies in peace in harmony with each other?

Finally! A song that recognizes my overactive mind that doesn't shush when I wanna sleep. I dunno if anyone else has this but I have maladaptive daydreaming. If you don't know what that is, it is extensive fantasy activity that replaces human interaction and/or interferes with academic, interpersonal, or vocational functioning. Thank you Rosendale! @@santiagosousq7035 Yeah, there are a few different names for it. Maladaptive day dreaming is the more "official" term used by doctor's and scientists.

I know what you mean, I think I might have it too because I often like to have pretend conversations inside my head with my favorite fictional characters. I don't think it's harmful, so long as you don't allow it to replace real human interaction like you mentioned or use it as a coping mechanism for loneliness (which I confess I think may be part of my problem). Having such a vivid imagination can be both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, it's beneficial if you're a creative type like a writer or artist. And you always have a way of entertaining yourself (sort of) when there's nothing else to do or while doing mindless chores like washing the dishes or folding laundry. On the other hand, it can make boredom twice as painful because yours is the type of mind that doesn't like to stay still doing nothing. Also as you mentioned it can make falling asleep hard sometimes. I find it's best not to fight it. Instead, use it to your advantage. Have you ever heard of guided imagery? There are plenty of videos and spotify recordings if you want to try it, or you could even try self-guided imagery! It's basically a form of meditation where you try to envision yourself in a calm, soothing place. When I was a kid, I had trouble falling asleep and complained to my parents that it was boring. I was under the mistaken impression that to fall asleep I had to clear my mind of all thoughts, but that's physiologically impossible. You're always going to have at least a few thoughts. My parents told me to try closing my eyes and imaging my pokemon figures (I was super into pokemon back then) in places like a beautiful forest or the beach. I think it did help. I also personally find reading to be helpful, too, when trying to fall asleep. That and white noise machines or playing gentle music. If all else fails, you might try doing the opposite and keep your eyes open, try NOT to fall asleep. It sounds counterintuitive but it works because you're not stressing out over the pressure of trying to fall asleep. Have you ever noticed, when you're tired, how hard it is to stay awake when you wanna stay awake? Hopefully these tips help and forgive me for the long reply, I have a bad habit of writing long KZfaq comments lol. I tried to break it up into smaller paragrahs so that it doesn't look as overwhelming. 😅

I've always dreamed of being in a fantasy world, or being a fantasy creature, or even just being a normal animal, being able to fly and run and live in nature. Unfortunately that'll never happen, but this song makes it feel real, and my gosh i love it. Thank you for bringing my dreams to life, even if its just a little bit.

I feel the same way sometimes. When I was a child I wondered if there were other worlds out there, worlds like the ones I saw on TV or in video games, or read about in books. Worlds full of magic and adventure and fantasy. I wondered if maybe magic and things like that were real on other planets inhabited by aliens. I actually got jealous of those who did live in those worlds, assuming they existed. 😂Why was I stuck being born in such a boring world when I could've been born in one that was cool?
