I was 14 and lived by Sheridan, the blast was felt over 20 miles away and we heard explosions after the main blast for hours.

We used to live 2 blocks from the prison, and I rode the school bus inside daily. We moved to Wheatland a few years before the Roseville explosion. The good old days...😂

@@billfoster213 Rugosa drive is where we lived on the top , dad worked at the prison , we used to go to the public canteen worked by the prisoners and gas station, prisoners would greet us as Mr and Mrs and young man . This is back in the day when prisoners had no rights because they choose to not follow the rules

@@mcdlb181 we lived on the corner of Henderson and Fargo , a block from the hospital. My dad was a salesman for Bob West Ford, back when they were in town on Sutter Street. We had a coffee table from the prison workshop, made by a prisoner in the early 60s.

It knocked us out of our beds in Fair Oaks. I was 15. After we found out what it was on the radio we called friends to see if they were ok. Then my brother and I spent the day at El Camino high at a track meet. The explosions went on that night. Insane to be moving bombs through residential areas.

My boss and I were hauling loads of logs from nevada city area to the port of Sacramento . We passed by on I-80 3 minutes prior to the first explosion . We pulled over and saw where the smoke an booms were coming from and knew it was the yard . We thought it was being bombed by the commies . Someone one the c.b. told us what was happening . A wow day for sure !!!!!

Why didn’t you show the actual video of the incident???? Dislike for not your due diligence.
@hewhohasnoidentity4377 Жыл бұрын
50 years ago if you wanted a video of something you had to bring hundreds of pounds of equipment to the location, find a power source and spend a couple hours setting it up. The railroad didn't give anyone advance notice of the time explosion so there were no videos.

@@kbanghart just be happy that you aren't one of us who lived nearby, and have scary memories of that day. It was a helluva way to start the day.
