TAIWAN台灣 Shocked me! 環島 Riding SOLO across the entire country I Rosie Gabrielle
In Sept 2022, I was invited to come visit Taiwan to do a motorcycle journey across the country and document my experience. A country I never would have thought to ride a bike through, because I had only ever previously heard about Taipei. When I arrived I was shocked. I never knew Taiwan was such an adventure heaven. I had one month to complete my tour and see as much as I can. From north to south It was only 346 km long. (actually its 390, I made a mistake! ) How hard could it be...... This was an adventure of a lifetime. Something I still can't quite put into words. But I tried my best to convey my experience in a video. My travels are more than just crossing countries on two wheels. My journeys gift me with monumental lessons and leave me with priceless wisdom I've learnt along the way.
The hardest part of this journey was trying to document it all, that alone was a struggle in these conditions. I hope I did this trip justice and you're able to come along with me on this amazing ride through a country that now, has a special place in my heart.

@@okeyokeke4453 Thank you 🙏. Actually I had a big problem there, after the first week, my Brand new Sony A7s3 was dead. I only filmed with that the first week on and off until motherboard was fried. After that, I used my small compact sony, and iphone, other cameras I used was my gopro hero 10, 9 my insta 360 and my DJI mavic Air2s which I crashed and lost second to last day :(

Back in the 1960's we were stationed in Taiwan for a couple of years, very different back then, no super highway, no high speed rail. We lived in Tainan and Chiayi. 4 of us worked in Chiayi along with several local techs and they were wonderful people. On days off we'd ride all the country roads (we all had motorcycles) up into the mountains, tea plantations, and little villages and the locals were always surprised to see Americans up there and also very friendly. It was beautiful everywhere and we sometimes had to cross suspension bridges which were a little scary back then. There is a lot of beauty to see in Taiwan.

Welcome back. Many things may be different such as more constructions, but one thing has not changed. Kind, friendly and warm Taiwanese. Try the east coast, like Taitung.

Good job, Rosie👍. I'm so touched by this wonderful video. Not only the breathtaking sceneries, but also the friendly and heart-warming people of Taiwan. I love the poetic and philosophical way you show us that the connection between human and mountains is divine, if only we know to respect and cherish the mother nature. It's great to see the friendly communication between human and other living creatures (I wish I could play and cuddle those cute baby pigs too!😍🥰) It's brave to be a solo-woman moto-rider traveller, but Taiwan makes it much easier and safer. It's a shame people all over the world haven't recognized this lovely country because of its big bully neighbor. Hope more people will know about Taiwan though your videos and stand together with Taiwan, just like the way we've been doing to support and help the world.

I really have never felt safer, the people are so humble and friendly, despite having a language barrier it never stopped the hospitality. I hope that everyone sees how amazing this country is. If you do not mind me sharing; a well-planned, organic, unrefined and untempered with vegan diet (consuming edible raw plant foods where possible so as not to denature or destroy the life-forces and enzymatic activities beneficial to the human system. First of all, Taiwan is not a country. Secondly, Taiwan’s Constitution also has a clause that Taiwan is a country. Finally, Taiwan is just a region of China. Before introducing a region, please understand the history objectively

@@hlbt7307 Taiwan is a beautiful country that is not affiliated with China. Your message is deceiving yourself and others. Taiwan is definitely a country, not a region of China. Taiwan has its own army, a president, and citizens. Taiwan’s tax revenue is 100% used by the Taiwan government itself, and China has no right to interfere. Taiwan's democratic and free system is different from China's dictatorship. The absolute majority of Chinese people have no votes, but every Taiwanese citizen has a vote!

@@hsw5519 當時是西部台一線到屏東400多公里後接到到墾丁鵝鑾鼻，東部走台九線也大約400多公里，後接北海岸淡水到台北，當中還有定點亂晃，走的總長約1200公里，花費13天還是14天，算慢慢騎有的地方也有停留一到兩天逛

@@hsw5519 不會喔，我們環島的時候也遇到很多人，每個人環島的原因各式各樣，有送給自己的成年禮、有工作離職的沈澱之旅，有思考人生的哲學之旅也有單純享樂之旅，有遇到了小朋友、學生、社會人士、退休人士，最讓我印象深刻的是一位退休的老先生，罹患癌症，但終日奔波於家庭與事業，在生病後才踩煞車，開始好好認識自己的家鄉，好好體會生活，他騎腳踏車環島，並分享他的故事，對他而言是個美妙的時刻環島中每個人都帶著自己的故事，有機會分享陪伴彼此生命短暫的時刻，也許是過客，但感覺真的很好，像當初電影“練習曲”一句，有些事現在不做，一輩子都不會做了，just do it~ 推薦你兩部電影，也許你看過但再看一次也許會有不同想法練習曲： kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nchpfamWrZPVips.html 不老騎士： kzfaq.info/get/bejne/htCdnd1qu86UaHk.html

妳太酷了身為一個年過半百的台灣人，總共也才機車環島過四次（還有許多地方還沒踏足過）妳的影片拍的非常好，影片雖然節奏很快，但每個畫面都很精美，看來是花了非常多的時間拍攝，把環島的所有精華都濃縮在這一集了看到妳倒車的那段見到妳無能為力的樣子（應該可以打電話給119，請求台灣警察協助的，台灣警察會幫忙妳的），一樣騎重機的我知道車子的重量還有加上滿滿的包裹，這是一個人很難扶起來的，還好有願意幫忙的民眾還有無人機炸機（墜落）的那一刻，我想到以前有一對中國夫妻也是在太魯閣國家公園炸機

有親身經歷過，才知道台灣其實不小，外國人來到台灣，得到的是人最初的感動，總會莫名想起我的家鄉為何不是這樣，而在台灣，這不被世界公認的國家，人民之間的純樸善良，確遠遠超過世界上每個國家，這應該就是來過台灣的外國人眼中台灣。

I have been living in this island my whole life and I had ridden my motorcycle across the island thrice. It amazed me every time when I hit the road. You never know how beautiful this island is until you go deep into the areas and see them in person.

Hi Rosie. I live in Taiwan for 3 years now. I have been all over the country and to most places you have shown in the video. I am still finding new places of beauty all around the country. Taiwan is just so diverse. But I am also happy that all of this is not very well know amongst tourists. Taiwan is already very crowded, with a huge influx of tourists it would be impossible to enjoy it.
