Amen! Eventually one has to admit this to themselves about those types--because sometines we use any excuse but them being as bad as that. ("Oh, it must have just been a misunderstanding."...Oh, jt must be because of their divorce".... The excuses I used to make in my head for these so-called humans ) I'm just about to start watching the video, but I went NO CONTACT a few months ago-- and this keeps me focused on staying within my path OUT forever

That's the problem we face when trying to explain to a family member what we're going through. It's shocking how they can oppose us, whom they have known all their lives, and that we have never falsely accused anyone or lied to them! They actually believe the narcissist over our word because of the false "nice, helpful" face they wear around them. They can't see it because it's not normal, so they don't understand.

My mother labeled me as a liar when I was 5. I could never convince her that I wasn’t my whole life. Some people are not worth your life. No matter what. I remember the neurosis of this terrifying woman, the bizarre rages and hysterical passive aggressive behaviors. She was a classic hysterical woman who fooled everybody. But me. It’s a miracle I survived her and her family. They only care about money and keeping it for themselves at any cost to you.

My ex-husband and I went to a therapist who questioned me if I was gay because I didn’t want to have sex with my husband. It’s hard to want to have sex with someone who physically intimidates you to maintain control. I have to say that damaged me more than many things in the relationship. That therapist was very unprofessional.

I have been following the subject of mental abuse for a decade. My daughter ended up with a man who is very disturbed. She left him in 2017. No divorce yet. He hit my eldest grandson age 9 with a screwdriver on his spine leaving an imprint. We have been through court procedures in the Canadian courts to no avail. So he got 50/50 parenting. Watching copious videos, reading books, working through my daughters trauma and healing we can find very little on how to deal with single parents whose partner harms the children physically/mentally. The social services/police/the law put the rights of these fathers first. While I live in the U.K. my daughter is in a remote area of the Rockies. Isolation……. If you can point us in any direction which helps single parents co parenting with a pathological narcissist. Thank you Anya

@@robert.9028 Seriously? I guess you missed the part about Anne saying that the father got 50/50. And I guess you also missed the part about how he hit the child in the spine with the screwdriver leaving an imprint. Your situation is YOUR experience, NOT the same as everyone else's. I'm quite familiar with the subject you're speaking about, as a reference the KZfaq channel named- the respondent. What's your beef with this lady? Go pick on somebody else - oh, you're a bully. Leave that lady alone. There's a DEFINITE reason why you're not a part of your child's life. Obviously. Your kid is better off without you. You're just trying to pick a figh, as you enjoy it.

2010: my therapist compounded my trauma by victim -blaming me for being unable to leave my relationship which was torturing me and destroying my life. Had she used the word "narcissist", it would've changed everything. But the term still wasn't that known. And narcissistic - abuse most definitely was non-existent.

I enjoyed the comment, when we know better we do better. I was married 24 yrs with someone with an addiction problem. I cannot diagnose NPD but with much education & therapy myself , I believe he is a narc. Therapy for us over 24 yrs became mostly about him, looking back, he thrived on recovery/relapse, the attention was on him. In therapy alone now I am learning & self care has been very freeing for me. 1-1-24 i discarded him,I surrendered to what would never be. His last relapse, steroids, gay porn, gym adoration, social media. It was all on his phone. My lesson, I learned. I feel blessed to be living my next act in a healthy way. Continuing my journey of awareness. TY for this content.

@@therespectedlex9794actually he was a pharmacist. We both were in healthcare. No I did not know he had an addiction problem. My believe was that he would recover & except his disease. His sexuality always closeted until I found evidence on his phone. For me ….. judgement….. ? Not of one’s sexuality but of character. He wanted his cover , me, & stay in the home so that no one knew. He relapsed on metabolic steroid injections for the new hunk he was phone sexting with. CHARACTER. I deserve so much more. He has left town thank god By the way all his injections were bought on line. Remember he WAS a pharmacist. Hoping you will rethink your comment Gay is no crime, deception after 24 yrs at that level is. Integrity, as I showed him in the past. In his retirement???? He was driving a school bus . The steroid injections had made him so hyped he had a rage with me in the car. Now that’s character….. urine tests don’t show steroid use. He knew that. When I found all this info he freaked out I would call the school superintendent. Making him leave was the best decision of my life. Addiction, sexuality I wish him well. The narcissists that I’ve seen were primarily spoiled, indulged brats that learned how to manipulate very effectively to get their way. They honed theses skills as they grew up and became more and more selfish as the years went by. Yes I understand some narcissists were hurt at a young age however I know tons of people who were hurt badly and did not grow up to hurt others. I will never give selfish harmful people a pass because they were hurt. There’s no excuse.

Me two. I’m learning. I’m waking up and evolving and diving in. Woke up after a painful betrayal. Definitely high narcissism due to his diagnosis with an extremely strong DA leaning FA. Wondering now if it’s covert ( vulnerable ) narcissism. The label doesn’t matter. Abuse is abuse. Now just dealing with extreme negativity towards others. Absolutely fixated and focused in an unhealthy way. The negativity is really hard. I just call out what he’s doing like baiting and just tell him I’m having my own experience with this particular situation and his feelings are his business. It’s tough but there’s no co regulating. You can’t ever feel close as when you do he inevitably breaks it by destructive behaviors. I’m tired of trying to placate to his every single need and whim and I don’t do it anymore. Which are incredibly unreasonable at times. His heart is icy and he lacks empathy. He’s not wrong with being frustrated with certain things ; but his attitude and approach is horrible and if you go looking for the worst in others you’ll certainly find it. We are all flawed. I gave him such incredible grace in 10 years. Especially last 5. Yet he can’t extend that to others who are important to me. The things they are doing are nothing compared to what he was doing in our relationship. He behaved very badly. I ask him to focus on himself. His family of origin stuff that had caused his extreme style and and affects all of us including him. He has so many deep deep issues that his focus ought to be on himself. Clearly he’s acting 🎭 in ways with me and still the same man and had no intentions of deep change. Unfortunately I find His behaviors and thinking very unattractive. He is extremely negative and miserable and he actually hasn’t truly changed. The changes he made are superficial. They are basic relationship things that I’m supposed to be so grateful for. That I should be handing him bf of the year award. I did acknowledge these changes; but I’ve realized these are basic essentials in a healthy relationships. I’ve been way way too agreeable ; he’s extremely disagreeable. I see my own style and am trying to heal and learn. He’s been my greatest teacher. I’m grateful for the growth despite the pain he caused me. I also understand how I caused myself as unnecessary pain.

I wasn’t a co dependent I was a person who believed in marriage and family. Co dependency happens when you have 3 autistic children and need to keep insurance and custody. Co dependent because I needed an income to raise those children. My narc was atypical because he is autistic brilliant. Very skilled at manipulation he decided to get rid of me by taking me to hospitals when I refused to obey. After insomnia torture I was hospitalized so I could sleep. No mental health care at either place I was terrified of the environment and still couldn’t sleep. So they gave me meds that I can stockpile. Three fantastic therapists confirmed I needed to save my life. I’m positive I had to understand what happened before I could admit my husband of 40 years was filth. He used all the classic tricks and with every year I was more confused and miserable and he used everybody to show me how little regard they had for me; maybe because I was crazy. His alcoholism is what made his ugliness emerge and show the real him. This narc worked for a big automaker where his bonus depended on how much he could abuse his employees. Like me they are motivated by the money needed to pay their bills and live a decent life.

Part of the family court system 40 years ago , everyone even to the therapist that were mandated by the court for evaluation enabled the narcissist on every step. I was the only person that understood how sick he was …. First he was able to by pass all these supposed professionals. I sat in the therapist office crying half the time , from the trauma of my ex husband and this family court system who were not helping to protect my children and I …but I was labeled the person who was not of the best character compared to my ex. It was the most traumatic thing to go through. A year later my ex kidnapped my children … took 14 months to find them . He did not ever care about them. This was the early 80’s before domestic abuse laws started to evolve in a more serious continuum.

But, every event requires careful mindfulness and measured interactions so that he doesn't take something from me that I don't want to give. Im often grateful for the strength it took to extricate myself from a relationship with him and to continue learning about what attracted me to someone who had so little concern for my well-being.

My Dad collapsed from a brain bleed after the 2nd injection (quacksine) I begged him not to take it. My brother works for UK Health service, 3 nurses had to be resuscitated after administering the experimental injection. He still took it and advised our father did the same. It’s like living in a sci-fi movie/ mental asylum. Respect ✊ to you for bringing awareness on this channel my friend.

It is not as if sheep's in wolf's clothing cannot behave properly at all since they are so good at expressing only outward good behavior appearances long enough to gain someone's trust behind closed doors when alone with them. The wolf in sheep's clothing in truth regardless of what the original temperament they were born with. They in truth have no interest in self-improvement at all while being good at only pretending to; including no longer wanting to be getting better at self-love of their soul anymore too; and so offering them treatment is not going to help. In fact some of those wolves in sheep's clothing are better than the average person is at behaving with charm and charisma and propriety only in some situations. In fact whenever the wolf in sheep's clothing is regarding someone who is being determined to practice self-improvement with the help of their higher power that in truth infuriates them so much they start seeking to undermine them at every opportunity convenient enough for them to do. Like during their rest time recreation with others gossiping about them. The reason why people recovering from narcissistic abuse say that it as if all they were in a relationship with the same kind of person is because they all use the same kind of strategies to target people. For example accusing the person they are abusing of being the one who is at fault reason as to why they the morally corrupt person acted out towards them. We cannot change the wolf in sheep's clothing. We can only change so the wolf in sheep's clothing no longer has as many opportunities to be one. I doubt the stories any wolf in sheep's clothing tells about how well they have become reformed. Instead only the person hoping that what the wolf in sheep's clothing is saying is true in the long term will get the credit for their hope. they have made an inner change they have only acquired better status symbols and better status a step up as 'proof' they have changed.

I totally agree with working on changing the behavior and not the thinking. The other thing I’d like to address is the problem of being in therapy. My ex was a narcissist and a psychologist. Imagine the harm done in that office.

principle: You cannot see, what you cannot understand. So true! But people feel it. ----- Overly consciencious neurotic..... Well, what environment did they grow up in and are now living in? - There is so much intolerance to basic nondangerous mistakes in some families and/or work environments + blame shifting of people who refuse to take responsibility for their own mistakes... - A psychological / spiritual awakening..... AND.... BUT..... Isnt much of the problem in today's society also associate with more and more people being basically immature? ..... medicine adn modern life in general enables adults to only have 1-2-3 children, who almost always survive, women dont die during childbirth - wonderful things YET..... medicine has enabled people to survive illnesses and injuries that in the past would have caused death.... so young people are not exposed to this type of human experience often till they are elderly.... Overprotecting and lack of boundries when growing up leads to immaturity? Doesnt it? I was just at a lecture where the therapist (systems therapy) stated that humans mature many times during crises.... And modern society, medicine.... leads to fewer and fewer crises especially in younger people .... and nacissism does not allow for normal human emotions and experience.... so people hide their normal emotional states/suffering so as not to be shamed.... (leads to psychosomatic problems) ... and so forth....

23:54 38:43 41:43 50:25 because we were ignorant about truth. Without truth what can you expect? Without truth what can you revise and better? Building on falseness what can we build? Who are you if you don't understand the importance of truth? How is your character if you want to be ok with lies, if you demand others to march accordingly to your lies? How is your commitment if you want others to do what you want, based on your exploitation, manipulation and false image? What are you really committed too? On the expense of everything and everybody else. Including the expense of Mother Nature, future generations and all the living things on this earth. You are committed to try to exploit everything because you can't handle the truth. There is no "safe place" for running away from truth. No matter how entitled you feel about having a safe place, there is NONE. We are not that special to have that entitlement and it is for the better. That is what makes character a real thing: you can't have "safe place" from hiding from your own self, you can't pretend. Everything what is valuable comes with hardship. It is not for everyone, only if you mean it.

The result of my relationship with narcissist is self-love and I spotted other narcissists that I grew up with, that cemented though after therapy that I was referred to. I wonder had gone to therapy at 20 if I could have had a different life, was it a waste of my time? There were good and bad times, but I feel like my authentic self was not present in the relationship. It feels like I’ve been through tsunami, tornado and earthquake combined, and I do not want to minimize suffering people endure in actual disasters

Thank you so much for explaining never go to couples therapy with a person with a personality disorder! I went to three sessions, and I wanted to bring the Therapist neck. Thank the Lord. I was coherent enough to know that she was bamboozling him.! I came out of there so mad more so than when I went in that I said I can’t do this anymore! lol ex-husband even agreed fine we don’t have to go! I thought to myself if I was this Therapist, I’d actually like him more than I liked me because I was literally so fuming mad, and that session

On Ross Rosenberg's point that if a narcissist finds they can't manipulate you, they'll stop their antics - I disagree. In my experience, they spend months and even years plotting revenge on the person they can't control and they will attempt to destroy that person. That was my experience with my malignant narc dad, anyway.

sometimes we learn to loves ourselves through getting into an intimate relationship that’s not good, so it’s in relationship that things are worked out… but I would call this having to learn the hard way because I really do think that the entire public school system needs to be restarted. If I were in charge, I would get a panel of trusted and knowledgeable psychotherapists who understand narcissism, shame, etc etc

The reason we have this mess is becuz law enforcement isn’t allowed talking about it.👈🏻 Nor are doctors!🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 It’s shocking to it’s core. Most people that aren’t psychologists but are educated thinks these people ONLY exist in the scary movies we once loved. There are very few movies out there that show this. I have watched the few by doing research. That’s really much of what they are, the few and far movies in between.👈🏻

17:55 "the psychotherapist has their own issues, including a mental health disorder." I began attending therapy as an indivual. I realized my (then) wife was a big part of the problem. I brought my wife into my sessions.. she is a narcissist who doesn't believe there is anything wrong with her. The two of them took turns beating me into the ground. It was like tag team wrestling. I should have broguht them gatorade to replenish their electrolytes after these intense sessions. Yes, I left therapy... it was traumatizing. I leard there are good teachers and bad teachers, there are good police men and not so good ones, and there are good therapists and those who should have their licenses permanently revoked.

I dunt agree that narcissists can change, from my experience is never enough for them, you have to get it right everytime which you never can because you are human, they never have to get it right at all so you literally have to sacrifice your whole life for bare minimal in return and put up with a string of them having affairs and driving you insane, screw that
