I am so thankful you went back to Omar’s place for another walk around. He is a super star ⭐️ rotor head. Man I enjoy listening to his voice speaking with such enthusiasm. His property a rotary parts haven . I could spend days there. It is difficult sometimes to get people on camera for our channels who are both relaxed and entertaining. I would love to see a documentary on NZ Rotary Culture and it's history just from hearing Omar talk about the little details of the older chassis. It gives us younger rotary enthusiasts insight on how far the engineering has come and how these OG's have passed it on to us. Keep up the uploads! I would visit NZ just to see unicorns like Omar has!

Some extras for interest. RX4 vin# starts LA22(12A) and LA23(13B) but 929 is LA2V. Series1 Rx4 was only sedan and 12A with Auto. Flat front and square gauge dash with tacho.(929 had clock) Series2 Rx4 first Coupes here and Sedans both introduced the 13B option / 12A was still available. Manuals and Pointy nose and Sports interior etc. The 929 coupes were considered sporty so they had the new sporty cockpit round gauge type dash like the Rx4 models. (929 Sedans kept the flat front and square gauge dash) S3 Rx4/929 late years saw this same new look front and rear end(sedan rear lights were like lines/rectangle and coupes got the square lights both new higher reverse lights) 929 sedan continued with basic dash-trim.

back in 2000/2001 I raced omar in the pink panther , he had a car full of girls at the ricarrton lights in my 351 xd falcon we were neck and neck till I chickened out and he never buttoned off right through the next red light!!! never forget the bro for that. big loves the rotary KING

Ash, I've been looking up that 929 that Omar has that's rare? I know Omar called it a Lindow or something like that? But I think it's actually called the Mazda 929L or 929 Lagato. Putting in 929 L in the search will only show 929 Luce or Cosmo.......so it's near impossible to find unless you use that specific word in the search 👌

That is the Series 3, RX4 version Not unicorn or just sold in USA Series 3, RX4, was Sold in NZ and AUS and Worldwide Series 3, has a totally different looking front and rear to the Series 1/2 RX4 929, also has the Series 3, version RX4 only had x3 Versions RX4, Series 1, 12A RX4, Series 2, 13B RX4, Series 3, 13B

That was colloquially known as the Rolls Royce front Rx4 Old bloke used to get around here in a dead ringer to the unicorn. Could have bought it dirt cheap back in the day. Nobody wanted em they are so ugly…. And was too expensive and hard to convert a RR/shitback S3 Rx4 back into a real Rx4
