I found a real buckmaster under the seat of an old truck and couldn’t believe it. It’s was heavy very heavy. I traded it off to a friend. I kept the compass and the pouch. He still is trying to get them from me lol

There were 3 models of the Rothco Ramster Survival Knives made. One was a short blade model. JB Weld is a good choice for strengthening the lockbolt. With a few simple modifications it is a decent and functional knife.

I kinda want one as a stand in for a BuckMaster. I already have a Wilson custom SS1 hollow handle which is very nice but this one would be fun to beat up on The original BuckMaster was epoxied on to the handle, you’re saying this is not?

@@poolee77 it was but only a tiny bit, I could see a portion of the Nut visible, I had some JB weld handy so I mixed it up with a popsicle stick or something and dripped it down until the bolt wasnt visible anymore

I think the handle is actually aluminum?

A lot of higher end custom hollow handle makers use aluminum since it balances better. That said this knife is in zero way comparable, it’s budget

@@poolee77 if you want a REAL high quality (possibly the strongest) hollow handle knife, Schrade makes one called the SCHF2SM. The handle is actually forge welded to the hilt so basically the whole handle is the tang. No bolt, no epoxy. It’s extremely durable. I got mine on Amazon like half a decade ago but I can’t seem to find them there any more. They might have changed the name since “SCHF2SM” is so unwieldy.
