Wow ! Personally served by the boss himself ! He is Indian Muslim, can speak English and is, indeed, a humble man. You have picked the best place to try out the roti canai. Teh Tarik (translated to "Pulled tea" in English) is best drink whilst hot. You should watch how this local tea is prepared in an authentic Indian eatery. Watch how the tea is "pulled" between 2 containers to blend in the spices used in making this tea.

Yes, roti canai with teh tarik is one of Malaysians favourite local breakfast. It's delicious, affordable and has many different types of ingredients. Some come with eggs and onions, some with sardines, and some with bananas and minced meat, too.😊

You can mix the red sambal and yellow dhal together to create a special gravy, it balances out the spiciness from the sambal and carries the taste of dhal together with it. Great combination

Welcome to Malaysia, hope you all enjoy the local food here. Just to share, the yellow gravy is call "Dhal" the red one is "Sambal". Malaysia curry use to be more spicy and salty unlike Japan which sometimes can be sweet. Thank you for sharing your moments, glad to see you all are happy so far.

Roti jantan, roti tampal, roti jantan with hotdog, roti tampal dua side, roti telur, roti telur bawang, roti telur bawang cheese, roti milo, roti milo pisang, etc.. yeah so many roti in Malaysia. You can also customise it to your liking, like maybe roti telur bawang cheese, with hotdog, a bit of chilli padi for spice…

If you go to any restaurant and want to eat using hand, you can ask where the sink to wash your hand before eating. Usually we mix curry with a little bit of red spicy sauce to give extra kick to the flavour.

if you like something that you eat in the restaurant/stall, you can bring home, just order more to take away/tapau even for a drink like teh tarik

@@koandmi Bring your own thermos container to take-out the hot drink. Otherwise the take-out drink is packed into the toxic plastic bag. Same goes with the roti you want to take-out. Bring your own non-toxic container. Heat up the roti at home when ready to eat if you want to eat it warm.

@@pkwanchua I'm looking for data stated about someone toxicated by teh tarik and roti canai pack with plastic bags specifically in Malaysia. NONE. Yes plastic is toxic if heated, but with extreme heat, NOT the heat of Roti canai. Still searching for the info. ~~~~~

Teh tarik, I always order 'kurang kurang manis' (less x 2 sweet), because kurang manis, it still very sweet for me😂😂. U can get Teh Tarik at any mamak stall / restaurant.

Malaysian standard teh tarik dont have spices in it. Just tea, condensed milk/sugar and some stalls add a little evaporated milk. What makes it special is the high tea pouring which gives a nice finishing to the tea flavor and texture wise. The yellow gravy is “Dhal”. Is made from boiled lentils + spices. does not have curry inside 😅 Try out the special edition “Roti Banjir” or “Roti Tsunami” next time.

Nice review. Tks.Please try "Oh Yeah Banana Leaf" restaurant at Bukit Bintang area in Kuala Lumpur . It is South Indian food same as Roti Canai which originated in South India and down there in South India they call it " paratha" or " parotta". Please try " fish or prawn briyani in BAMBOO" at the Oh Yea Banana Leaf " restaurant in KL. Thanks .

At any mamak restaurant (nasi kandar restaurant), you can order the same orders such as roti canai, roti sardine & teh tarik "kurang manis/less sweet". 😁 The roti taste may vary according to which mamak restaurant, so you can have roti canai as breakfast at any mamak restaurant nearby 😊

@@koandmi Not a very good idea if you do not want your roti soggy, soaked in lots of sauce which could be too spicy for your taste. Have the roti served separately from the sauces so that you can eat the right amount of sauce per the amount of spiciness that you can personally tolerate.

The red one is sambal.....not curry sauce....the the one is dal sauce....you can add sambal sauce to dal sauce to make it a bit spicy

Upgrade your teh tarik game by ordering teh tarik halia@ginger. Additionaly, try to get the one with raw halia rather than the powdered version.

You can prepare teh tarik at home but to get teh tarik to the right consistencies you need to learn how to pull the tea. Pull = Tarik. You can refer to youtube how to prepare teh tarik.

Some advices; I)Please next time ask for price first.example city for roti canai more expensive compare to outskirt of city. II)Please look for hygience and cleanliness of the place. III)No cold drink first.as roti canai bring heat to the stomach or bloating stomach.(Tht the reason no cold drink first). Iv)Survey the area first see which places look better.i think ur guy should do the tricks. Please,just caring of foreigner coming to malaysia.enjoy ur malaysia to the fullness.😊😊😊😊

New suggestion for you guys. Should try Nasi Kerabu and Nasi Dagang, that is east coast food but available in Kuala Lumpur. But the best one I eat is at Shah Alam 😅

I see that the curry is untouched, that’s so sad. I would have banjir (flooded) the entire roti in. Just one plate of curry is never enough.

Got to mix those two sauces together. Easy rule of thumb, if unsure, mix the sauces!
