Lets open up this house, maybe fall off the roof, who knows what will happen... it will be fun!
Finally getting rid of the snow blinds, and that's when I found the rot. Every minor task seems to lead into a new project. i love it.

Same terms used in south Texas! Never heard it called a beaver. I’ll have to ask my Canadian ex-pat coworkers if they call it a beaver

Good stuff. There's an architectural course in the engineering department at the national Shinshu University in Nagano City. Maybe you can hire a couple of student from there to help plan that future snow guard (and other work).

It's a small toad, no wonder it wasn't interested in your pond. 😂 In the more stormy parts of Japan, the older houses have sliding storm doors around the house. It perhaps is an idea? They don't remove them, the doors slide into a pocket of the house. There's nothing better than working with power tools, eh?

So so so many toads. They are awesome! I have storm sutters on the old part of the house main rooms and upstairs. More would probably be one of the cleanest and best ideas!

I think I'm going to do that next season for sure. Whipping around a deconstructed circular saw is a bit hectic with kids running around
