I think Donnie did not understand his position on the team. He was not the tech/science guy. He was the one that had imagination. You could see it in his weapons and fights.

it's criminal that we were supposed to get 7 seasons of #rottmnt and we only got a season and a half... I'm extremely thankful we got a movie but Rise deserves so much more. we as fans deserve so much more. Ahhhh okay, that’s a funny word so imma use it too lol. But yeah Donnie as a character has just been my favorite in rise. He hit such a glow-up from his past version to rise. The new movie is probably gonna regress that but Rise Donnie is still here so.
