As far as the new dropout rule I am kind of sick of watching games where one team just endlessly has possession you can say it's because they outplay but I think it's an improvement to have more contested possessions. I also think try scorers should have to kick off.

I wonder if Panthers retaining Tago over Crichton has something to do with his future position. From memory Tago was playing as a specialist back rower in reggie’s before first grade. Seeing as Panthers have all these young gun backs coming through McClean and Iongi and with Soro also already 30 years old maybe they see Tago’s future in the back row more than in the centres. I’d imagine a future positional switch may unlock some positions in the outside backs for the likes of J McLean and I Iongi.

The short drop out rule hasn’t changed anything teams have been doing it the last few years regardless of the rule change and I literally only saw 1 out of many through the whole weekend where it didn’t get contested and had the new rule apply.

When cogger signed for Newy, i though he would play 7, Gamble 6 and hastings to move to 13 given he has played there before at the tigers and was really good there. He would be one of the better ball playing locks that is a bit faster than most. Would be a threat at first reciever with all the block busting forwards around him being active options every play every set. Headache for defenses. But what do I know 🤷🏾‍♂️
