Roush Cold Air Intake

We are adding a Roush Cold Air Intake to the 2018 Ford Mustang GT. We are hoping to gain another 10-15 horsepower putting the Mustang around the 500 horsepower mark. You should go with the Ford Motorsports power pack level two, with the throttle body and reflash of the computer... it's pretty nasty on the 17 I had, probably going to get it for my 21 but it likes octane, more than 93,seems... but it's the real deal, I think these Roush cold air intakes are basically the same as OEM.

hey bro, I currently own a 4.0 with an slp loudmouth muffler and it's okay sounding, a bit of backfire pops but usually only at low rpms, I was thinking about adding this cai, I'm only 17 and I can't install headers because I have a single exhaust, but really I just want the car louder, did this make the car noticeably louder at all?

If it made the exhaust louder it was minimumal. By adding the cold air intake you do gain some induction noise and a couple horsepower.

I like it alot. The roush took my intake temps down by nearly 10° from stock air box on the highway and at cruszn speeds. Lower intake temps mean more HP. Most people opt for an open air intake which draws in hot engine air. This actually robs HP because the temps are much higher and the ecu will pull timing out of the engine resulting in less HP.. Did the Roush CAI help out any on fuel mileage?

Andy said he hasn't noticed any difference but he drives like an idiot all the time. So he is not the best example. Cold air intakes usually do help with fuel mileage. It is claimed that a cold air intake can improve fuel mileage as much as 3-5 mpg. Just depends on driving style.

Where does it feed the air in? It's not at the wheel well is it? Is there any chance of hydrolocking

The intake feeds thru the factory location on the drivers side front grill. I also have opened the air holes in the grill to let more air in. No water ever gets in. Its not like the old foxbody march ram air kits from 87-93.

@@DrivewayDreams i was just worried about people talking about "hydrolock" , i dont like how the factory grille is so closed off and i wanted to get an aftermarket grille that opens up the entire thing more, you dont think that would be an issue do you?

I dont see an issue with doing so. As long as your not driving thru creeks. Lol.

Did you have any issues with the non tuned my 2020 gave me the wrench said power train issues put stock back in cleared up didn’t know if you ran into this issue

Sounds amazing had my 2020 10speed auto ecoboost for over a year now looking to mod it now was the roush air intake worth it or would you go for something cheaper like a k&n

I haven't riden in Andy's Mustang since he installed it but he did say the air intake temperatures are dramatically lower
