It's a shame that people don't want to pay. These buses are beautiful. With 3 doors and 2 staircases, these buses are my favourite. I am going to get one in a model.

People deserve equality in seat comfort, legroom, etc. in every seat, since they must pay the same fare.

Its a shame some people don’t pay on these buses. They’re fantastic in every way, except for that massive oversight. Never just trust that people will pay. The only practical solution is shutting off the additional oyster readers and making it work like a regular bus

Hello Anton, London had the most famous bus design ever with the old routemaster. Not any design comes even close to her. She was a pot of gold because she attracted tourists. I see many aspects of the old design in the new routemaster. But the old routemaster had that very friendly personal smile and the new looks more (forgive me) like a robot. Why didn't they put those human elements back in the new routemaster? Even with a little paint you can give all buses that famous London smile to greet all her visitors! Passengers would treat her much better: no newspapers lying all over floor. After all we are human and we wanted to be treated in a human way?

As a passenger I think these buses are appalling, especially in the summer with the ‘air-cooling’ (more like oven mode). My biggest bug-bear is the small windows, can’t see anything out of them especially when sitting at a window which opens because there’s a black strip right in your line of sight. And obviously the fare dodging is bad, I always avoid routes with these buses like the plague. I see why drivers like driving them though, great video👍😄

Congrats on 3k Anton! I'm in Barnsley and travel a lot on the bus. The Stagecoach E400MMC's that I usually ride on seem to be nice for legroom. I'm 6ft. I've never consciously measured it but I've never thought about it while sitting on one. So I guess that's good as I would only remember the ones where legroom is an issue. But they have some older E300s and some Scania Omnidekka's I find that my knees are pressed up against the rear of the seat in front of me on these buses unless I sit slightly sideways. Can't imagine it does much for posture and it does cause pain sometimes if it's a full bus and someone is sat next to me, making sitting slightly sideways problematic. I know this is probably an unpopular opinion, but I really dislike the new Routemasters. They look really nice from the outside and the lower deck is fine, but it feels really claustrophobic on the upper deck due to the really small windows, and the leg room as you showed isn't great (I'm 5" 10 and barely fit, it's ridiculous - I know tons of people taller than me who would be very uncomfortable). The problem with them is that they focus more on looking 'luxurious' rather than actually improving the experience for the customer - it's form over function basically.

I know the struggle. I’m 5’10” and I get E400 MMCs on my route, which I can sit at the front on fine. I prefer the right and when I get a Gemini, my legs are literally pressing against the bit below the window. They seem to have different legroom for different sizes because when I sat on the left of one last summer, I felt like I had lots of room.

Excellent interior tour on this bus. These buses only have 62 seats, they get very crowded. East lancs vykings were better and are my favourite London buses. They had 69 seats with lots of leg room. They were used for route 9 and got old so these Boris buses replaced them for route 9.

I live in north wales and I’ve noticed the enviro 400 busses have the best leg room on them but the rest my knees touch the back of the seats on other busses

Same occurs on whichever bus it is that serves the 40 route. On the upper deck, the seats on one side (behind the stairs) are much more generous for legroom.

Those free newspapers are so wasteful. They used to give them out at all the train stations in Dublin and you'd find all over the trains and buses in Dublin but the company that did went bankrupt so no more littered newspapers.

I had one of these on loan to first west Yorkshire I think in 2014 or 15 for the new bus for west Yorkshire project and I don't like them at all and not disable friendly at all . only for wheelchairs .this was first one in London in 2012 for Arriva but now it back in London still in the green livery with it original bus company Arriva London can you please give me a shout out to thanks
