Building a shop made (Router Jig) that works like an Etch A Sketch, I built this 3 axis router jig to inspire my kids to spend more time in the shop. They love this new router jig and are learning a bit of woodworking in the process.

5 years later, and 3 after yours I realize I kneejerked a cnc comment myself LOL.. But it is a totally legit idea. I wonder if cables are legit though for a cnc application. I know cables are used in log-track lumbermills with a big drum that spools them one way and the other but in my head it seems like the cables would need to slip laterally to avoid binding, yet the drum wouldn't have traction if it allowed the cables to slip.. Bah.. Now I need to make a mockup.. Off to the 3d printer!
