thought Motherwell were pretty decent and should be fighting for 4th place. You left Shanks unmarked, yes, but that's what happens - difficult to focus on him for 100% of the match and he does move around to lose a marker. Also, your point about being able to change the games with subs is spot on. That's why Hearts won. They spent an hour enjoying most possession, that wears the opposition out a bit, then bring on some players who are just as good but have fresh legs... the game changed with those subs.
