Mk2 Golf's and Jetta's are THE BEST cars VW group ever made.

I've lived with them for many years in both diesel, turbo diesel, and gas variants. I now own multiple Mk. IV Jetta's and Beetles including the ALH, AVH, and 1.8t (AVW?). The newer cars are more "civilized" and have air bags. However, I am STILL super-loyal to the Mk. II unit body, design, and lack of self-locking doors and annoying convenience control modules, etc. I've honestly done pretty close to 2 million miles in Mk. I's and II's and have highly profited from their intelligent design and thrifty operation. Either way, the Robert Bentley manuals are king for self-sufficiency. I will remember to give you the finger when I pass by!!!!
