I’m with you sister. We all do our best, and the Lord handles the tough stuff! God bless you all. I was a single mom with 4 children under the age of 6 when my husband left with any and every asset we had. I didn’t know if we would eat some days.......but God! I can look back now and see his hand on every hour, day, year. He does provide, stand on HIS promises. He is faithful as we are faithful. I’m a senior now and still resting and hoping in Him.❤

Loved this video! I look and think about the same things and try not to let the fear creep in. We have to remember we'll be better off than most people but I don't think I'd ever get to a point I'd feel like we have enough. Thanks for the peach crisp recipe! We're battling squirrels trying to take peaches from our tree. Ugh. We change tactics every day and they still get a few. It's only a few years old so it's not big enough to produce enough where I don't care if they get some. It's always something!

I battle squirrels in my orchard, too. They would completely clear the tree long before any of the fruit was ripe. So I decided to go all the way and treat those squirrels the same way I treat a mouse that gets in my pantry- I trap them and send them on to the big oak tree in the sky. They sure are cute, but ultimately if you steal my food you die. There may come a day when that food is life for my family.

There may be food hidden around our country but we cannot rely on that for our families. We have been stocking our freezers and food room constantly. Like you, I am concerned about the wheat situation so I am placing another large order for wheat berries from Azure. Thankfully I invested in a Mock Mill 200 last year and have been adding to our wheat berry supply. I use the berries to grind flour now but I am also relying more heavily on my already milled organic flour from Azure now and saving the wheat berries for later. Like you said, they will last far longer. Also have been canning for months and right now am canning potatoes, beef, and bone broths weekly. Let's not panic or let fear control us but continue to stock our homes and take care of our families. You are doing a great job!

I have recently found your channel. My husband loves to hunt and has the opportunity to travel for hunting adventures as I am a full time working mom that my income allows him to experience trips he wishes. Honestly I would never say anything is better than beef. I so struggle and so do some of my children/ young adults with using what he brings home. Maybe it is because I didn't eat that way growing up. I would never waste the meat an animal provides but truly, not a fan of all wild meat. I'm sure it is somewhat psychological. The majority of our meals are from scratch, I can, dehydrate, etc.
@RowesRising
@RowesRising Жыл бұрын
Oh where does he hunt? My husband LOVES to guide- he prefers being a guide to killing. You know I really struggled with game meat too. It nearly made me gag when we first really started eating it. But after soaking in vinegar water and then preparing it with lots of seasoning and finding palatable ways to consume (jerky!!) - I eventually developed a taste for it. Now when I eat beef- it tastes so weird to me- like super strong overly beefy- if that makes sense. Elk is divine- have you tried it? Deer can be super Haney. Antelope is also less Haney and very good. I will say some game(especially bucks/bulls in rut) tastes really strong while others are very mild. I would encourage you to keep trying and I promise you will develop a taste.
@RowesRising
@RowesRising Жыл бұрын
I also used it in chilis etc mixing it with meat until we acclimated to the flavor. I once thought I would never be able to eat venison, but it’s no issue now and I don’t even taste the game flavor- it rather I prefer it because it tastes “normal” to me.

Hey Katie. Got a question. So to make just white all purpose flour, which berries do you use and do you just sift out the bran? I buy mostly AP flour and smaller amounts of einkorn and other wheat berries. But I would like to start buying larger amounts. It’s just me and my hubby and we don’t eat a ton of bread but I still make a loaf a week. Thanks, great video 🇨🇦💕
@RowesRising
@RowesRising Жыл бұрын
Sift and keep sifting your sifted flour to remove the bran. Each time you sift, you can empty the bran into a separate bowl, and run the flour through again and again until it’s most all out. I would use a berry depending on what you want to bake. Hard red and hard white berries for bread, soft white wheat berries for cakes and cookies etc.

@@RowesRising that’s interesting. Look at azure. Their red is almost half of white. Or was.

Thanks Mel! Azure is my go to for wheat berries typically. Natural grocers is the only place I’ve found with wheat berries locally😅

@@RowesRising well there’s definitely something said about a local source I just find it odd red is higher than white. Imo we are at a place where cost is important, but having it is more important. You feed those babies. ❤️

The tribulation is coming and the only way to escape it is to be a faithful follower of the holy Lord Christ Jesus, Revelation 3:8,10,11. And as Christ commanded, pray always that you are accounted worthy of escaping it, Luke 21:34-36. May the grace of God be with you❤️ Also, fermented honey garlic is powerful against viruses and bacteria (buckwheat honey is exceptionally good).
