Roy Halladay was ROBBED! | A Baseball Story

Roy Halladay won the Cy Young in 2010. However, in 2011, I'd argue he was better, yet he was robbed! But not just of the Cy Young... He was robbed of the NL MVP! And because of this, WE were robbed at a shot at seeing something we hadn't seen since 1968...
In this video we unpack Halladay's monster 2011 season, I think the numbers will surprise ya! We then unpack who actually won the NL MVP and NL Cy Young awards that year to see where Halladay stacked up, before talking through why Halladay didn't actually win and concluding with why this even matters in the first place. Spoiler Alert... It was our shot at seeing a little history, but the BWAA robbed us!

No Pedro Martinez was robbed of mvp in 1999-2000. He won Cy young but should have gotten mvp also

Pedro Martinez was robbed of the MVP not once but several times. He was also brutally robbed of the Cy Young award the year that Barry Zito won it.

Halliday should’ve won the Cy Young in 2011 Kershaw should’ve won it in 2012. Back then Innings pitched, ERA, WHIP, Wins and SO were the only stats that mattered. Kemp still deserves the 2011 MVP in my opinion .WAR doesn’t take into account the protection a hitter like creates for the hitters hitting in front of them and behind them. Once you factor that in I think it’s worth at minimum another 1.0-2.0 wins in value

Right. Kershaw rightfully has 3 Cy Young awards between 2011-2014. It's just the first one should've came a year later

Aaah. The olden days when you had to be on a playoff team to win MVP. Kemp was robbed by Braun. Braun lost out to Posey the following year and Ellsbury lost to the dirtbag Verlander. It's a good think for Trout his career started when it did.

Good video I'm not a big fan of War there's just so many variables that go into what makes a ball player of ball player that you can't control for. It would have been nice if you would have put holiday up against Matt Kemp and some of the others to see how those statistics stack up against each other the best part of the video is you acknowledging just how corrupted the media is it's embarrassing bunch of pencil neck Geeks waving the power wand anywhere they choose LOL

yep. clemens won the mvp in the american league. verlander and kershaw won the mvp. but pedro comes along and "pitchers have their awards". i hate the mlb voters

Pitchers shouldn’t be able win mvp period it’s the whole reason cy young award was created in 1955 and you can’t be the best player in your league when you don’t play everyday

Then explain why the Hank Aaron award exists for best hitter in each league
