Written by Benny Golson in 1957. He played in Milwaukee this past Friday and his website says next date is Blue Note Tokyo 4/30 - 5/5/16. He is 87 years old - go Benny! Support Jazz in the USA! This beautiful version was in 2007 in Germany. The talent is still out there. You could hear music like this within driving distance of where you live or you can pay money for recordings. These people aren't trying to get rich - just make a decent living. Keep the music alive!

Agreed!--and not just the note but the mood Roy Hargrove created as he brought the ending to a calm landing that tied it back to the calm beginning, despite the emotional highs in the middle of the tune. Most endings return to the beginning, but this one tied them together in a beautiful bow and gave us a parachute.
